  1. I'd like to say a very big thank you too Dave, for sending me 6 metres of top quality Klotz cable for the price of the postage ! Sir, you're a gent. All the very best, Steve
  2. I have Jaco style fretless vintage jazz which plays and sounds great. For the money,I think youd have a hard time finding something that plays and sounds so good. although I have changed the pickups out, and re- shaped the headstock ( personal preference,as I find the headstock a little clumsy looking) In fact I'm looking for the fretted version of the vintage jazz model. All in all, with a few very minor tweaks you'd have a totally gig able bass.
  3. P'md
  4. Bought a Cort GB-74 bitsa bass from Alan,he's a really nice chap and the transaction couldn't have been easier. great communication, super fast shipment, when more could you want. I would have no problem in recommending Alan to anyone. All the best, Steve
  5. I'm not sure where to post this,so please excuse me if its in the wrong place. I've just got my hands on a Cort 4 string bass ( GB-74) the model with the swamp ash body and a maple neck/maple fingerboard with big plastic pearl blocks Well I'd like to get shot of the maple board, and fit a nice Indian R/wood fingerboard with small 4mm MOP dots. it needs to be slotted, but it doesn't have to be free tend as I can do this to keep the cost down Is there anyone out there that would want to take this on,or if you know of anyone. as I can I've had a few quotes from "known" makers and the job would cost the price of the bass. can anyone help me ? Many thanks, Steve
  6. I suppose budget is a big thing here. Personally I'd go second hand. Peavey 5150 / 6505 Laney Ironheart Peavey xxx Marshall mode 4 Bugera make clones of some Hi gain amps Although I can't speak about the build quality as I've not tried one. Good luck in your search.

  12. Hello Chaps,I'm not really sure where to post this, as it seems a little odd,but here goes. I'm looking for an Auralex Gramma board ( I just missed a medium sized one on eBay which sold for just over a tenner !!!!) Anyway.... There's another one up for sale, although the seller wants collection only,I've messaged the seller to say I'd arrange a courier from my end, but he says he won't post because he hasn't got any packing materials. So I was wondering if you of you kind people would do me a big favour ? If I bid on the Auralex and won it,would someone be so kind as to pick it up for me ( The guy said he lives in Woolwich SE London ) Many thanks to "The Greek" for coming up with the idea. 👍🏼 Thank you, Steve 😃

  18. Hello chaps,I was wondering if you've had any experience with any, or all of the above pedals. I'm looking for a versitile OD/distortion,I already have a DHA VT-1 eq pedal which I love and is my "always on" pedal, but wanted a pedal to kick it up to 11 but NOT in a Fuzz way. A) The Xotic BB.... To me this is my favourite, sounds the best, from listening to YouTube B)The MXR M89 Bass overdrive.. liked this pedal initially, but have my doubts, although in its defence there are a very limited number of decent YouTube vids available. C)This sounds good too, but there are some decent videos showing what it can do, unlike the MXR I just want to get it as right as I can before I go for something, as I have no way of auditioning all these pedals,I thought I'd ask you guys, knowing the knowledgeable bunch that reside on here. Any help/advice would be greatly received. Many thanks in advance. Steve

  23. There are a lot of fakes going around of the "signing bat guitar" these days, but in they're time, there were quite a few models produced to my knowledge. A book matched dimple burr rubber model (top and back were of 5A Dimple burr, very rare !) A silent model ( which Yamaha didn't waste anytime in copying ) A fretless model - which this could well be. But I really think this is one of the pre factory move models, the so called "ping pong" ( for some unknown reason) looks like someone's stripped off the original hardware and parted it out. Also,Did you know this little known fact,They also made a six string cricket bat,but sold the patent to an American engineer.it had some sort of transposable tremolo on it What a load of old tosh !!! And while you're at it,"make it out of carbon fibre why don't you !" Oh well, time for my medication 😊
  24. Just bought an MXR Chorus Deluxe from Badass, after great communications, the pedal turned up well packed, and in mint condition (as stated) next day delivery too ! Faultless transaction, would thougrly recommend Cliff to anybody. 😊
