  1. First time live last night. I truly love this bass; excellent playability, great looks and fantastic sound both fingerstyle and slapping/popping!
  2. Last night in Delfzijl:
  3. Welcome Suezee!
  4. The bass is built by Ferdinand Rikkers, you might have seen the Treeline bass he made. Rikkers website
  5. 1 thing I changed though. The bass came with Thomastik Jazz Rounds on my request but I found them too thin sounding and too flexible for my playing. I replaced them with D'Addario NYXL's and now it's perfect! Deep sounding, lots of mids and a very brilliant high end. All customizable with the preamp of course.
  6. More about my Rikkers bass in this topic: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/496874-nbd-rikkers-powerline-5-string/
  7. My 2 boutique basses (with my double bass) Börjes from Germany and Rikkers from Groningen: My EBMM Stingray 5H and my Ibanez EHB1005: My main amplification now, Sennheiser wireless and Quad Cortex: And for the big band and acoustic gigs my Phil Jones BP-800 with my AA E120 (also from NL):
  8. Hi all, My name is Kees, I live in the beautiful city of Groningen (NL) I have been playing bass guitar since 1982 and double bass since 2005. Lots of different bands, first mainly bluesrock, later crossover originals. Since 1995 I have been playing in a big band with a variety of styles (big band swing, latin, jazz and pop classics). When I turned 40 I started playing a lot of soul, funk and disco in various bands. Since last year I am playing in a very commercial band, having a lot of fun with it.
  9. I'd like to share some pictures of my new custom built Rikkers Powerline. It has a red alder body with a black walnut top, maple neck with a ziricote fretboard, ceramic humbuckers, ABM bridge, Hipshot tuners and a Noll preamp. I couldn't be happier!
  10. The Fishman is for my double bass, MicroBass II for bass guitar. I switch between them with the Mooer ABY.
  11. I've been downsizing from this: to this:
  12. I briefly had a SBMM Ray35, but it did not have the right sound for me. I sold it after a few months without regret. This EBMM hits all the right spots for me. Maybe a tad too heavy, but with the right strap no problem for me. I'm convinced it's a keeper.
  13. It's in the middle of the picture. A Phil Jones BP-800 on top of an Acoustic Alignment E-120.
  14. The entire family (excluding my double bass)
  15. My '99 5H 3eq arrived last week
  16. Ash, I really love this bass. You're not considering selling it with the D-tuner?
  17. Are you sure the body is alder? I'd say probably walnut .
  18. Nut width is 44 mm for this great bass.
  19. Erm... Only one pic visible. Could you post some more? EDIT: Nevermind
  20. Are you able and willing to send this to NL?
  21. What is the location please?
