1. Jeez, I'm quite tempted by this, if I could handle the extra weight that is. Have two DB112's, but could do with the extra ooomph sometime, although this is twice the weight of one of the 12's, dilemma!!!!!
 2. Anyone got a Marcus Miller for trade?
 3.
I've just noticed the pickups look like 70s jazz spacing on this. Nice. These are effing lush in red.
Sexy n Red n Available!!!!
 4.
Don't worry tom, I have my ferry ticket booked over to Ireland!!! He still has time to remove this amazing bass from the thread!!!
Jeez, threats now, will be waiting in a Sid Vicious stance, lol, only joking
 5.
Sorry GP, it's just when I sold my red Jag Steven was going to come to Teesside and stick it where the sun don't shine for daring to sell it. Oh look I've bumped it again
Wow, that's quite extreme, will have to watch out for the bum notes then [incidental bumping, it's all the rage]
 6.
Too late Tom........ Im already contacting the mods to have this thread terminated. Such an amazing bass,,,such a bad decison GP!!!!!!!! However, to all sellers who are unsure aobut these basses please be aware that they are the greatest basses on the market at this price.
Jeez this thread was getting bizarre till I caught on what you were on about [I think] Only reason I'm letting it go is because it doesn't balance very well for me in the way I play, i.e. my stance [piss takes to follow] It just seems a bit headstock heavy, and I'm convinced it's the shorter horn, if that's the right descriptor [piss takes to follow], on the lower body. Playing my Mayonnes 5 string, which is a Jazz Shaped Body, just balances better with me. I might regret letting it go, but have just got a Squier Vintage Modified Bass, which I'm gonna mod even further with the possible inclusion of a JRetro preamp. Would still consider going back to a Marcus Miller if anyone has one to trade. But you've had the testimonies here, grab this Bass before I change my mind.
 7.
hi there i play a 60s Jaguar (really carefully!) and they are very cool looking things - if yours were white or sonic blue would be interested!
Hi, The Bass version only comes in Black, White or Red, but the Red is the sexy beast of the bunch, it turns some heads, and it's the slimmest neck of any Fender I've played, almost like a strat, I have small hands so it's a breeze. The Mustang the other basschatter mentioned is a good bet, as long as the reissues aren't as heavy as the originals. I had a 1978 and it weighed a ton! Not a lot of tonal variation with them though unless you modify them, which can be tricky. You might also consider a Fender Precision Lyte, they were made in the early 90's, I had the deluxe version, they are active and as the name suggests are incredibly light. Good luck with the hunt

Am going back to a traditional Fender Jazz Bass. As for trades, would only consider a Fender Jazz 70's style, i.e. block inlays, 1978 style headstock decal, bullet truss rod, etc, or alternatively a Marcus Miller Jazz, preferably in Sunburst, it's that era and style of Bass i'm after. The Jaguar is in perfect condition, apart from two dings which were sadly aquired at or on route to my last gig, of which I'm livid about, always try to take great care of my gear. The dings are pictured and don't look as bad as maybe the pics show. May throw in a hard case for the right price. I'm guessing at a price of around £550 as these are £700 new and this is 7 months old, but feel free to pm me offers. The GroovyPlucker
 9.
Hi all further to a post a while ago I have been nosing around bass listings / specs for a few weeks now - as a ladeee electric guitar player I fancy a whirl on the 4 stringer but with small hands and a crocked shoulder from skiing and silly non muso pastimes I need something with a skinny neck and lightish - so i am thinking Jazz bass / aerodyne etc I am liking white basses and block inlays & definitely only 4 string beyond that as a newby like electrics I will no doubt try trade and try again until i find something that suits! If you are interested I have for trade: Gibson Les Paul studio with ebony fingerboard 1990 in alpine white (naturally!) 1970s Ovation Preacher solid body Gibson Nighthawk Goldtop 1996- only 30 made apparently! Vigier strat (cream/white - again!) Fender P bass USA with racing stripe and maple board - I havent seen ones with a racing stripe so think they are rare-ish - any info welcome! - all I know is I think the Pbass neck is a bit chunky for me and its heavy-ish (prob normal weight but remember i usually play an 8lb electric !) Anyway - over to the experts! thanks
You might consider a Fender Jaguar Bass, very thin neck, active/passive, block inlays, superb Bass, only slight drawback is that it doesn't always balance very well when playing, depends on your playing stance though I guess. I have one myself, but am considering letting it go for a traditional Jazz body, breaks my heart as it's a stunning Bass, both in looks and sound. Mark
 10. Just to add to this thread, Mr Solofunkyjazz is a pleasure to deal with, I traded the Aguilar AG500sc with him and it was an absolute breeze doing business, so have no fears in your dealings. This Aguilar previously belonged to Higgie, another great Baschatter, who treats his gear with the utmost respect, so I can vouch for it's quality and condition, it's a fantastic amp, I only traded cos I wanted the two channel version. Also, the soft carry case is the official Aguilar one I imported from the U.S.A. Mark
 11.
Perfect condition AG500SC plus a soft carry case for trade for an EBS head.
SC not doing it for you? Cheers Mark
 12.
yes - if you click on the link it is exactly that model - and as new, gigged only once!
Damn if it were the brown colour would be tempted, unless someone's selling a 2x10 in black, Mark
 13. Hi, Just checking, is in the black finish, and is it 8ohms? Cheers Mark
 14. Crikey, this is taking a long time to shift, no one fancy a big, resonant, bottom end then!!
 15. Just bought an Aguilar cab from Uzzell there, and a pleasant experience it was too. Another fine Gentleman on this wonderful forum. Great and consistent communications made this deal very easy. Goods were immaculate and safely & securely couriered. Have no hesitation in dealing with this fine member of our forum. The GroovyPlucker

 17.
Just to say that Mark is a top guy to deal with, I did a bass trade with him a while back all on the basis of trust ( sending his bass out on the promise I'd do the same ). All went smoother than a really smooth thing from the planet smooth :-) Deal with absolute confidence. Top bloke! Matt
Cheers Matt, really kind words sir, feeling is recipricated, btw you'd love this cab, lol, Mark
 18. Just bought this after buying an AG500c then realising it came with a hard case so need the bigger Carry Bag. Got this in from the States for £100, selling for £70 inc U.K. postage, it's only out of the box, never been used. The GroovyPlucker
 19.
G'day Ladies and Gentlemen. Can someone please help an old rocker with a sound problem! I'm currently playing a Mexican Fender deluxe P bass special edition through a Line 6 Lowdon LD175. I'm looking for that piano clang sound along with the typical Fender growl and I can find neither even after playing with the eq on the bass and the bass/amp settings for hours!! Don't get me wrong, There are some tremendous sounds on offer, just not what I want!! Should I replace the bass (a pity as it plays brilliantly, and is one of the best basses I've owned since my Geddy Lee jazz was stolen (and that REALLY growled!)), the amp (a pity because I use the in built effects quite a lot) or both!! Would upgrading the pick-ups to actual American pick-ups help (or replacement with non fender pick-ups?) Any help would be appreciated as this has me tearing what's left of my hair out. Thanks in advance An old codger.
Not sure you can get that piano clang with a Fender, it's certainly more Growl than anything else, reason I always go back to 'em, closest I've come to both is a Spector Euro, big sound, very tight and growly believe it or not, but an impossibly small body, and that stupid contoured back didn't help, am too used to the Fender shape. Not sure if that helps! The GroovyPlucker
 20.
Cheers for the heads up Mark. They do look nice but way out of my price range. Ive got my heart set on a 70's MIM classic now. They only cost £520 :-).
Hi, They've just shot up in price, probably due to the review in Bass Guitar mag, I got my 5 string for £1200, that's now the price of the 4, £1349 for the 5 now, jeez, Mark
 21.
Yeah, the classic. I like the idea of the smaller frets as well. I find my CVJ really nice and easy to play. Better than the DD even. Im not looking for any real vintage'ness ( I doubt thats a real word but it gets the point across), just something that ticks all the right boxes and the Classic 70s' seems to do that. Bloody GAS again. Might have to do a price drop on this soon.
Hi Dave, I was gonna go for the new Jazz Deluxe V, American, beautiful retro finish, also a custom shop on ebay quite similar, until the guy at BassDirect talked me into a Mayones Jabba Classic. It's a complete rip off of the DJ5, but it has a great Bartolini Preamp, active passive switching, Basslines pickups etc. It's probably a poor mans DJ5 in many ways, the neck's great, but it's not the glass finish of the lakland, but having said that, you could maybe check em out. The 4 string is quite akin to the Duck Dunn/DJ, and I'm really happy with the sound & playability, of course it's not an ernie ball, but seeing as you're back on Fenders, this is cheaper than the extortionists, sorry Fender. Cheers Mark
 22. Boss/Roland are real twats when it comes to power supplys, they make em completely dedicated so you have to buy their replacements, just surprised by the fact that the guitar and bass gt units have the same one. You can surely try a non roland one, but they can be a bugger to find, but good luck, Mark
 23.
Much to my annoyance, I only bought this cab last week and have now been offered a work placemement abroad which I can not turn down so will have to sell this on. It is in absolutely A1, immaculate showroom condition and even comes wearing the Orange tag. I have had a play with it over the last couple of days and it sounds great. Real tight punchy tone with oodles of solid, fundemental bass frequency capabilities. Incredible how so much sound can come from such a dinky cab. This cab would certainly lend itself really well to the Bass Terror and would suit small to medium gigs easily. All information can be found here! Will upload some photo's just as soon as I get home from work. I am looking to hopefully get back what I paid for it so that is £330. Please dont hesitate if you have any questions.
I can attest to the power of these wee cabs also, will take some pretty serious low end too. Mark
