I have a Harley Benton Alluminium Style Flight Case I'm looking to trade for a Fender Moulded Bass Case. The Flight Case is in great condition, just too heavy and bulky for the car. Only looking trades for Fender moulded cases though, skb also. The Case is exactly the same as the Warwick Flight Case Cheers The GroovyPlucker

Adding an Audere 3ZB and need help!
The GroovyPlucker replied to Kongo's topic in Accessories and Misc
Hi, Before you rush off to get yer Audere from the U.S., you can get them in the U.K. from Bassdirect.co.uk, for about £150. I just got one and installed it in my Lakland Daryll Jones 5 String, haven't blasted it at a gig yet, but it looks and sounds tasty so far, Cheers The GroovyPlucker -
Just bought a Lakland DJ5 of Dave, absolutely great. After plenty of discussion, to-ing and fro-ing, we completed the deal. And it arrived safe and in good time due to Dave's attention to detail. The Bass was superbly packed and posted through Parcelforce. So, wholeheartedly recommended. The GroovyPlucker
What issues do you encounter using the Pod Pro? I would have thought it should be fine in a loop.
Hi, Have tried to link it up effects send/return as mentioned in both the amp manual and the line 6 manual, but whichever way I did it, no sound. At the mo am taking line from fx to amp, bass plugging into fx unit, I'm gona do more noodling next week. Thanks The GroovyPlucker

Hi, I've an Ashdown Mark King Rack Amp, and am currently hooked into a Line 6 Bass Pod Pro Rack, but can't seem to use it in send/return situation. Was told that all Line 6 stuff has to be first in line. Wanted an FX Rack unit that can blend in an effect, while still retaining the sound of the amp. I'm sh*te at all this routing stuff, hence the help thread. Anyone any ideas about other FX units, Art SGX/SE Nightbass?? for example Cheers The GroovyPlucker

So it's back to Fender. Love this Warwick, and it really is a fantastic sounding Bass, and bizarrly sounds and feels better than the 4 string version I had. Only reason I'm considering trading is because of that Fender thing, no not the grill, but the feel of a warm Fender against my abdomen. The pick up placement, and general body placement fit me more comfortably than the Warwick does, so looking a... Fender 5 String [Active] Lakland 5 String [Active or Passive] Here's some blurb about the Warwick Description Warwick Corvette $$ Double Buck 5 string Bass in Nirvana Black Corvette $$™ If the entire line of Warwick basses is like a family at a party, then the Corvette $$ is the newest in-law who ate all the food, drank all the booze and is now in the coat closet with not one, but two of the wait staff! You know the type - a complete and utter beast who only listens to the one person in the family who can control it. Yeah...the Double $$ is that wild. Even though it cosmetically resembles other Corvette models, the Double $$ gets its outrageous attitude and powerful identity from its unique pickup and electronics package. There are two passive MEC humbuckers nestled closely in the center of the body, completely covering the legendary sweet-spot that so many basses miss completely. But this beast has a sensitive side too, which can be accessed via the two mini 3-way switches that allow you to coil tap each humbucker in a variety if ways (hum canceling parallel/series, single coil). To give the Double $$ more flexibility, the passive pickups are matched to a MEC 2-band preamp, making this behemoth a true passive/active hybrid bass ' the best of both worlds. If you look beyond the wild electronics you will see that the Double $$ features some of Warwick»s most valued components. A select swamp ash body for warmth and snap, an ovangkol neck for strength and growl, bell brass frets for resonance and longevity ' all these elements blend beautifully to create the perfect performance palate for you and your passion. • Bolt-on • 5-string bass • Right Handed • US Swamp Ash body • Ovangkol neck • Wenge fingerboard • Scale length: 34 inch (long scale) • 24 frets • Passive MEC MM-Style humbuckers with open pole pieces and coil-switching for each pickup: serial, parallel and as single coil • Active MEC 2-way electronics • Coloured Oil Finish • Warwick tuners • 2-piece Warwick bridge • Black hardware • Just-A-Nut III • Weight: 4.3kg • Including Warwick 'User Kit' • Including 'Premium Line Plus' RockBag® for electric bass It's also for sale on ebay, The GroovyPlucker

The GroovyPlucker replied to budget bassist's topic in Basses For Sale
It was mine before budgets, and it seems we both slightly regretted the exchange, but, you have to try things. It really is a Beautiful bass, whoever snaps it up, just sounds and feels great, and there aren't many of these basses around. Might add that budget is a fantastic guy to deal with, absolutely 100% top lad, so don't be afraid to trade, The GroovyPlucker -

Hi Simon, You're right about the diff between the 4 and 5 string necks, it's quite bizarre actually, the spacing isn't that much of an issue for me though. Had a 91 streamer before and the neck on that was fantastic, albeit that it was laquered as opposed to the woody neck usually associated with Warwicks. The 5 strings neck is so smooth, as is the 4 string corvette, but I think the 4 string is a touch deeper, i.e. more c shaped, 4 string more d shaped. Both amazing versatile basses. The other problem I've encountered over years of Bass trading/playing, is that I started on Fender, and I guess I'll always be Fender. So I'm so used to the Fender body spacing, i.e. pickups are placed more in the middle of the body, most other basses I've tried are more neck and small body, hence the pickups are usually placed further away from my right hand, this might seem trite, but you get used to your most comfortable playing position, so it'll probably be back to the Fenders, hopefully the Red Jaguar!
Just out of interest, what is it that you are not so overjoyed about in comparison to the 5er?
I think the two models are maybe dif years, the woods seem ever so slightly diff. The 5 string glides, whereas the 4 is very stiff and tight for me. I just find the 4 string harder to play than the 5, even tho I've never used a 5 string before. Also hankering for something slightly diff in the 4 string dept, thought having the family of 4 and 5 string versions would work, but looking to move on, again!! The GroovyPlucker

Gibson SG reissue bass **4 months old**

Nice, these are, had the super supreme version, not sure it made much difference. Just on the Chic/Funk thing. I'm nuts into that kinda stuff, can't play it for sh*t, but well I try. You should maybe consider a vintage Aria Pro II SB or RSB series with flatwounds, mighty funk, not slappy, but funky as f%*k. I had an RSB800 with flatwounds, mmmmmmmmmmmm, The GroovyPlucker -
Did you get my PM re: Ibanez trade?
Hi, Yea, sorry I did but didn't get around to replying. I'm not sure it's exactly what I'm after, having said that I'm currently looking at the Doug Wimbish 5 String. Had the 4 string before and thought it was ok, very slim neck. Your Ibanez seems to have a much wider neck, so not so sure about it for now, but if you're very keen on the Corvette get back to me, Cheers The GroovyPlucker
Hiya, I think i've been bidding on this on Evil Bay this week but didn't hit the reserve. What are you looking for? Cheers
Hi, Yeah, had it up there a couple of times, reserve was £600, which for this bass is more than reasonable, let me know if you're interested and maybe we can do a deal. Thanks The GroovyPlucker
