Wireless unit on pedal board....wise??
The GroovyPlucker replied to The GroovyPlucker's topic in Effects
ok, well I'll see how things pan out, I've not had seperates before so trial n error, am just hopefully getting a t-rex board wich looks good, don't plan on a lot of pedals but some will be high powered, synth, deluxe big muff etc which is where my concerns lay re power consumption n hum/buzz and general interference, can't wait to get started, thanks for your useful input -

Wireless unit on pedal board....wise??

nice, I've some van damme ones saved on ebay, one basschatter was saying that the flat connector leads are sometimes noisy as they may not be shielded as well as standard, any issues yerself? -

that also answers my question, cheers jack, I also have the smooth hound and i see it's right next to the power supply too, just juggling which board to get, i see you have the metro, I might get a slightly bigger one as I have a few Electro Harmonix pedals which are quite big, but I don't plan on having that many, I see your power supply is on top, is that cos the metro doesn't have space underneath like the classic variant? -

looking to get a pedal board, have a few pedals now, but also have a wireless for the Bass, was just wondering if it would interfere, signal wise etc if attached to the pedal board, couple of folks say it's not a problem -

Wireless unit on pedal board....wise??
The GroovyPlucker replied to The GroovyPlucker's topic in Effects
so is the smooth hound the 1st in the chain, from the amp that is, I envisaged tuner 1st, bass synth + a couple of others and smooth hound last, sorry I'm new to all this........ -
was just about to say is there some van halen thing going on with the design....then notied the evh!!!.....sounds from the few demos I've seen that you could almost use this as a chorus, poss even slight flange effect, thinking thin lizzy/dancin in the moonlight, poss even don henley boys of summer.....it'd look really cool on my pedal board but wonder if a dedicated chorus/flanger pedal might be better than a phase....hmmm...

cheers skankdelvar, I'll wait till I've most of my pedals and boards assembled, if problems occur may post pics or vids for advice, never really used individual pedals b4 but fed up with multi fx, mainly setting volumes for patches etc, think i can get away with on the fly for all I use.... -

Here again fgs, am just amassing a pedal board and wondered if my smooth hound wireless unit would be ok to velcro to the end of the pedal chain on the pedal board or would this cause any hum/elec type problems, if so what's the best way to incorporate the wireless at the end of the chain, cheers, mark

yeah, the clean/neutral sound is what i like more n more, just add nuances (hark at me the muso, not) with your finger style n fx's, I liked the streamliner, especially it's mids, but the gain section was excellent, almost no need for o/drive/dist, I'm in no rush to sell/buy at the mo as I've just forked out on a cab and am replacing my fx armoury with seperate pedals n board etc, chances are by the time I get around to listing the MB this may well have gone, anyhow, GLWTS and I'll get back to you if I sell, cheers, Mark

throwing my tuppence h'penny into this old thread, I've used Roqsolid a lot, they're grand, but recently got a Big twin T with a Falcon cover and it's the best cover I've ever seen, thicker, more padded, sweet PU/Leather at the handle slots, just getting a quote for my super twin......

Well an update on the EHX Mono Bass Synth.........tried it for 3-4 hours.....sent it back.......!!!! Now don't get me wrong, it's not at all bad, some tracking issues, but not major at all, all depends what you want from a Synth Pedal, but there's the crux, it just didn't offer me the Sounds n Options I wanted. I get the feeling nearly all Synth, or Synth type pedals are created for crazy expressionist sound scapes, and that's fine for those that want that, I want to emulate many classic 80's Bass Synth sounds, and thus far nothing has achieved that in a single pedal, you'd think manufacturers might actually realise this as going on all the stuff they cram into some of these pedals it's well achievable. The sound(s) I lust, well check out Billy Ocean/When The Going gets Tough, Chaka Khan/I Feel For You, Madonna/Get Into The Groove, to name-check just a few, there's 100's. I know many have said just buy a bass synth keyboard, but I'd rather wait for the ideal pedal (standalone) Looks like it's the Future Imapct after all. Now, anyone looking to try the EHX Bass Mono Synth, don't let me put you off, it's a neat little pedal, has lots of sound options that are useable, I did have the sensitivity all the way up on most settings as I found tracking an issue when I had it anywhere else, it's a good wee unit for the price, as are most EHX, just got a Bass Muff Deluxe real cheap on Ebay, and PMT online are selling off the last of the Bass Metaphors at £40, nearly £100 off the retail price.

Can anyone recommend good cables to connect my pedals on a pedal board? I've saved some Van Damme ones on ebay, flat heads, poss called pancake heads or summat, Cheers, Mark
