    Was that the one on eBay Lozz? The BIN price was very reasonable for one of the best period of EBMM basses Ive had pre eb rays - a 78, 79 and an 82 - and IMHO these EBMM late 80’s basses are and sound pretty much the same An excellent buy well done

    Such a great Fender comeback story After the dark days of the late 70’s Bill Shultz started the American vintage reissue series in the early 80’s and then the start of the CS as you say in the late 80’s Wonderful instruments - I particularly like the attention paid to getting the body contours right - no crude angles just lovely curves and of course this attention to detail bought down body weights

    I have a non custom shop version of this bass - an American vintage reissue jazz in three tone sunburst with serial number V041xxx Fascinating how the CS developed in the late 1980’s

    Andy bought my 1995 stingray excellent communications and overall nice bloke. Had the same as above regarding delivery with parcelforce not being willing to drive down an unmade road to Andy’s place so he collected it from the local post office

    This is my old bass and it’s quite a rare old thing with its shinny chromed knobs which I think are plastic from memory and the slot head pup height adjusters GLWS

    I think the precision pickup just has more punch/presence so if you want a jazz I think a pj is a good way to go so you still have that pickup but you can change the tone adding the jazz bridge pup Clarky mentioned short scales such as a mustang I just don’t think they compare with a 34” I also don’t think they are as precise intonation wise
