1. Welcome ive been to Cape Town many times, lovely exciting times
2. Hope they don't make them standard and carry them across to the4's
3. These don't look good to me, don't like the new pickup and bridges
4. There's one on eBay that's been relisted, didn't sell fret time round at the starting price if £975. its got a replacement bridge, but other than that it looks original
5. You've got to factor in shipping, duty and vat, no?

SOLD

Hi do you have a photo of the body with the pickguard off and a photo of the underside of the pickguard showing the pots and wiring? thanks
7. As others have said, I don't fully understand why they have dropped the AVRI range I suppose it did hark back to the past which is a bit negative
8. You are right. but I don't see anything new from fender in this new range as others have said maybe just a move to enable re pricing all in all showing what excellent value the mexi classics are
9. Fender did do (and bravewood also do if asked) a precision with a jazz width (A) 1 and 1/2 inch nut neck.
10. Yes you are right. what would be good is a blind test with famous p bass players and see which basses they chose - might find that a Chinese affinity p bass wins
11. Yes I have both and find little difference. Perhaps the RWs tend to be lighter. Depends if you are a relic fan
12. When I got back in to bass playing, some 15 years ago now, I just had my old Yamaha bb1200 - an excellent bass - but I fancied a fender precision and a mate of mine whose band I had just joined was a dealer. he bought 5 Precisions for me to try - 4 60's and a 1982 American vintage reissue price wise the avri was £500 and the others were £1000 to £2000 i chose the avri! i still have it
13. I had one just like that, Dakota red and that guard although it did have the lollipop tuners glws
14. Could I have Blink 182 - Take Off Your Pants and Jacket Bob Marley - Exodus Greenday - Dookie Greenday - Nimrod Nirvana - The Interview thanks
15. Yes more photos would help including neck headstock back and front
16. Just noticed the guard, this has thumb rest holes on E string side and being solid white rather than pearl white I would think the guard is a later 70s guard or more recent reissue
17. I had an original Dakota red mustang that had been refretted. I sold it last year for around £1200. i think your body looks original but as you say has been butchered round the pickup cavity but the brass insert is right. If you can photograph the underside of the pickguard with the pickup attached and the control cavity I can give you an opinion of the pickup and wiring, etc in terms of price, the one I sold would now sell at a dealer for say £1500 plus assuming your pickup, knobs, wiring, etc are original, then if, after discount you paid less than say £950, I would say that would be OK
18. No but keep the original. I think the badass 2 has the same footprint and screw positions. So when you sell it you can put the original bridge on and keep the badass for another bass
19. I used to gig regularly in a loud covers band with a 4x10 and 1x15 powered by a v6 400watt all valve amp, all TE gear. It was sublime The amp developed a fault that was eventually fixed In the meantime I bought an ampeg svt pro 2. Hated the sound and it was so unreliable - blew power valves every other gig Could have been just my bad luck but I would not use ampeg again, I found the sound harsh
20.
Anyone know the difference between the 57 and the 58?
none
