So true It's the emotion is music that gets me, when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up Think of solos that move you, for me Santana on Sam pa ti, not some thousand note per second virtuoso Jaco on portrait of Tracy Stan Getz and JJ on funny valentine
In fairness, Andy Baxter's price includes £225 of VAT and the cost of any work he had to do to it. Anyway, I suspect the price will be negotiable.
i think Andy uses the vat margin scheme which allows him to pay vat on the difference between what he buys it in at plus any repairs less what he sells it at. So say he bought it for £600 and spends £200 on it Vat payable would be £1350 - (£600 + £200=) £800 = £550 x 20/120 = £91-67 Instead of £1350 x 20/120 = £225
Outstanding performance. The highlight of Glastonbury for me this year.
i agree, and that's my point, the killers should have been on the main stage and ed consigned to the tent Did't like the new single though!
There was a thread about the futility of taking a spare bass to gigs on here but I can't find it now, and I recall that some people suggested you could take it as far as taking a spare amp if you were really paranoid. At tonight's gig I had a brand new amp delivered to my house shortly before I left to drive to the gig. I tested it while the guy from the shop watched. I decided to take my old amp as well. The new amp lasted about 30 seconds into the first number before losing all power. I was able to swap it over for the old one (same speaker, power and speaker cable) and continue. Had I not had a spare amp in the car, it would have been a disastrously short gig! I was using a Fender Jazz bass, bought new last March, for the gig tonight. During the between sets break, it was in a Hercules stand when I saw stand and bass fall into the drum kit. No one was near it at the time, and the fall left some damage to the fingerboard and left the G string unplayable due to it hitting a cymbal. Again, the gig was saved because I had a spare Precision with me. I think the only things not duplicated in my gig kit now are speakers and me!
when i used to gig with big valve amps, i always took a tranny amp as back up and needed this on several occassions, especially when i had an svt II pro - it was forever blowing power valves. Never had a bass let me down though
Excuse me, Sir. You are not from Sussex. What does a person from Essex know of the "Crap music" scene in Sussex? We're not welcome in this thread. Hey, maybe we should start a whole new section for "Sussex only"?
ha ha And there was i as an oldy thinking everyone has to be pc! "Crap classic rock" What a fecking prit
One of the bands I'm in will be ready to roll soon but as a six piece the fee needs to be half decent. The music is classic rock but with much less focus on the classic crap. Anyone got experience of the Sussex circuit and maybe a list of venues with expected fees? Thanks in advance!
good to see you concentrating on the modern crap Far superior to the classic crap
