1. That 62 AVRI you sold is quite a rare bass compared with the 57. I'm not surprised it sold so quick
 2. Any chance of a lot more photos?

 4.
Here's my two part guide to buying and selling. 1-when buying only pay the amount you are happy with. 2-when selling only accept the amount you are happy with.
well said pete
 5.
Funny how no one complains if the market drops out the bottom for an item after they've sold it isn't it? Has anyone received some compensation from the seller after buying a used Warwick after they crashed years ago?
interesting point Pete I bought a bass on this forum and said to the seller if ever I sold it I would give him first refusal. Several years later I wanted to sell the bass. The market had gone up and he was annoyed with me when I kept my word and gave him first refusal but at the market rate. I always wondered, would he have complained had the market gone down and I offered him the bass at a price which was less than I had paid him?
 6. Couldn't sleep tonight and I came across this thread and this bass for the first time, despite being a fender nut. Over the 24 pages I've gone from GAS/lust to not quite sure as to whether I want one. I note the QC issues and love all the features including the possibility of an 8lb Jazz But in the final analysis what stops me from buying is the relic finish, I just don't think I could live with that. There is one for sale here with a badass if you are looking http://basschat.co.uk/topic/290847-2016-fender-flea-jazz-bass/
 7.
The pick-guard is also worthy of note. It has holes for both the bridge pick-up guard and tug bar, but the holes do not extend into the body of the bass. This seems a little odd to me. If you're going to the bother of drilling holes into the pick-guard on this kind of bass, why not go the whole hog and finish the effect with holes to match in the body. A minor criticism though as the tortoiseshell guard looks like it's been propping up a corner of your nan's dresser for the past 40 years. Someone really has done a good job on it.
fender vintage reissues came this way - that is with holes in the guard but not in the wood

 9.
We all show up, we perform, chat with fans and have fun like most bands. BTW, when your in a band making money there are cats with no work lined up waiting for an opening. We can all be replaced easily, that's reality. It's worked well for me for the last 5 years. And I don't know if you know that I'm 63 and have no interest whatsoever in band management. Unlike many, I knew what I was looking for when I joined and these guys had it. It's why I haven't had to jump from one band to the next being disappointed time after time. Guys, if your looking for a band have a clear understanding of what you want from a band and the band experience. Ask question and research any band you decide to audition for and ask questions. For me, I knew I was looking for; 1. An established band with book of business and a history of strong bookings. 2. Honest, rational, stable, intelligent, experienced and trustworthy band members. 3. Local to my home. Those requirements are crucial for me, not volume, genre or what sings they play. Make sure it's a match on both sides before you commit. Oh yeah, one last thing. There's no perfect band. Toodle Pip Blue
wise words
 10. Yeah! Looks good Well done Enjoy
 11.
Hey gang A pal of mine has just picked up gorgeous CIJ Tele bass...strangely, it's gold, like Geddy's '68. I've had a mooch about, and I can't find another one like it. Anyone know anything about them..?
this one Michael ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fender-paisley-precision-bass-reissue-/131899818406?hash=item1eb5d781a6%3Ag%3A86gAAOSwS7hXAWLO&nma=true&si=UmyW00fTzxWJtS6qhNxjsxx%252FYZU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
 12.
True, but as luckydog says...it's not behind the cymbals. They're barley audible too. All I can hear is guitar and bass. You solve one problem (the bass) and create more. @ gareth....Sorry, it's not my intention to be mean. Just saying it as I see/hear it.
thats ok I think the "camera" was infact a phone and bearing in mind this was recorded 10+ years ago, certainly not hi fi!
 13.
Thanks all. I have been using this shop for years and know the owner and retail staff well. I might go and pick it up tomorrow if I get chance. I trust they have done their homework and I am also aware of my consumer rights. I've tried the bass a few times and asked the relevant questions but I will post pics ASAP. It's just disconcerting with the pat numbers absent. All the P basses I have googled from 72/74 have numbers under Fender logo. I wondered if there were ever any exceptions. It's my only worth.
to help you, here is a 1973 p bass being sold by Andy Baxter, hopefully your bass will be very similar, note there were no real feature changes between 1972 and 1975 on p basses http://andybaxterbass.com/details.php?id=1124
 14. Photos of the bass needed This will enable the basschat experts to get working Ideally as many as possible and including headstock front and rear, neck butt, pickups, pots, underside of pickguard, neck plate, on and off, body neck and control cavity.
 15.
i was in the exact same position as you some 15 years ago Guitar band drums, bass, singer and two guitarists Both guitarists had 100 watt messa boogie dual rectifier 4x12 rigs I had 4x10 and 1x15 cabs with a trace 300 watt head. On full power I could not compete The solution? I got a trace V6 giving me 400 watts of full valve power. This enabled me to be heard/compete Of course I had to wear proper moulded earplugs bought from an audiologist Try it!
Said rig in operation http://youtu.be/eNIiZ0Tck-M
 16.
...and give the guitarists an excuse to up their volume to compensate...? I don't think any gear change is required. What does need to change... (downwards...) is the volume knob on said gear. 17.
the shop has to charge vat as well remember......
they will use a margin scheme for vat. That way they only have to pay vat on the profit, that is the difference between what they buy the bass in at and what they sell it for.
 18.
Ahh ha ha!!! Yes, I can't say I get compliments about my own sounds and looks! How do you get on with the neck? I've a hankering for a nice chunky bass neck!
the neck is fine and the truss rod is where it should be at the butt end
 19. Shame about the bullet truss and non-rounded pups
 20. The Mike dirnt is my main gigging bass If you don't mind the non contoured body the rest of the package suits me well, the tele head, 59CS pup Always get complements both on sound and looks, and people say much the same about the bass
 21. Brilliant basses! You want to know which pj to get? This is it! And with upgrades and importantly, this is the passive version GLWS
 22. So I think this is a steal in terms of value for money Keep it then
