Also can take Pick ups out, and take photos if it is nessasary. Regards Brian
brian, take a look at this http://basschat.co.uk/topic/267200-1970-fender-telecaster-bass/page__p__2849249__hl__telecaster__fromsearch__1#entry2849249 Nice big clear photos taken in good light, preferably outside giving the buyer most of the information he needs Cheers and GLWS Gareth

Sold Fender Road Worn P Bass inc postage in the UK
gareth replied to richardd's topic in Basses For Sale
Great basses and totally different to their poly finished counterpart, GLWTS
how so? The only difference between the nitro and the non-nitro basses is .....er........the nitro finish - how can the finish alone make them totally different basses? Just wondering -
SOLD 1972 Fender Precision bass price drop and added pics
gareth replied to paul j h's topic in Basses For Sale
As ever with old Precisions, it might really help your sale if you strip it down and take good close ups of neck heel, neck pocket, pots, back of scratch plate, bottom of pick ups. Just trying to be helpful. £1600 is not a huge amount for a bass of this kind BUT it's a lot of money for most folk to find so they will most likely want to be as sure as they can be. The other question is whether the sb1 pup position is the same a precision
I'd really like to try one of these but I just can't get over the lack of a tone knob....!
it really is NOT a problem, you will not miss it
TBH IMO etc.... so much of the tone comes from what you are playing the bass through that a P Bass is a P Bass and there will be some difference tonally, but playability is far more important than the tone of the individual P Bass. Once you put it in the mix you'll hear a P Bass tone, it just depends what it's running through and how the sound is set up that will really control where it sits in the mix. Obviously a massively generalised opinion.
not so I have seen chris Clarke playing bass with Danny and the champions of the world 3 x and on the last occasion, this week, he was using a jv squire p bass instead of his 60's p bass - same rig, same fingers but the squire lacked the punch/attack of the fender and was further down in the mix Now I like jv's but the fender in Chris's hands was a superior beast that no amount of eq'ing could counter

Fender 60th anniversary precision - see-thru ash body, maple neck, thin nitro-type finish, light (8lbs), vintage type pickups. If you want to stay with the 1970s, I did once have a 77 black precision with maple neck that weighed just under 8lbs, so they do exist

highway was USA and had a thin nitro finish but neck with truss rod at the wrong end - the head nice bass BTW

I once owned one of these California Series basses. They are exactly the same as the Mexican ones - one here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/261158-fender-precision-special-pj-car-maple/ - the parts used on both basses are the same, the difference is that the Mexican one is assembled in Mexico by Mexicans and the California Series is assembled in USA by Mexicans and gets a Made In USA stamp and a USA serial number
