  1. Hi folks, I've got this in the items wanted too, but thought I might have more luck here. my 8 year old can't stop playing my basses, but standing on the couch is maybe not the best playing position. condition not important, I can do most repairs and set up work myself. I'm in Scotland, so will obviously pay for shipping. Many thanks, Sy.
  2. Back up for sale at £500 Didn't get on with the Bergs I was trying out in the end. For those that were interested, I'll PM you. Sorry for any wait you guys that were interested before.
  3. Short term trade sorted............Thanks for all the interest.
  4. Did you not get on with this with your upright? I was looking at this as an option for a new upright amp, based in Ed Friedland's review of It on youtube for double bass. What were the issues with it for upright? Thanks, Sy.
  5. Price drop bump. Will miss this cab, but It needs to go due to logistics. Can deliver within reason.
  6. Lots of interest, all PM's replied to bump.

  8. Decided I'm definately downsizing, now up for sale at £575 ONO. PM me if you want pics. Near Glasgow for logistics info. Available for trial any time. Buy It before I change my mind again, super cab, the sound is immense, just too big as I play double bass and have to transport me, double bass, amp & cab in my own car to gigs.
  9. Best amp I've had to date, loads of power & tone options, from hi fi to fat and warm. Good luck with the sale.
  10. I currently use an Aguilar GS412/Iamp800 in a loud Rockabilly band. Fat, woody, near acoustic sound at loud stage level. Underwood straight into the Iamp now( recently ditched my preamp) and have no big issues with feedback, just careful eq and foam behind my tailpiece. I can get pretty close to my cab, but cutting the really low fequencies cuts back on feedback. The eq on the Iamp is very useable for upright, and 12's just sound great for double bass IMO. I'd love to try a Barefaced or Fearful with upright though, let us know how you get on.
  11. I'm also a Rockabilly player. I'm running an Aguilar GS 412, Iamp800, Shen lami bass or German lami with an Underwood and guts ( plain up top & Olivs on the bottom). D-tar Solstice sometimes, dependant on the bass I'm using and the room we're playing in. One of the bands I play in is a really loud Rockabilly band, and with this setup I have no issues with volume or feedback, even in larger venues. My bass sound is natural and shakes the floor, happy days........... I've had loads of amp & cab setups over the years for Rockabilly, most of the time and old Ampeg SVT3pro or Ashdown ABM500 with an old trace 1048H & had good results too. Good luck, my sound quest has been going on for 20 years+, but I'm happy with my setup (for now). Only downside is the weight of everything, but in my book it's worth it. Also as Bob says above, a good compromise can be mixing a mag pickup and a piezo, I also did that years ago, but I just love the sound I can get with guts and an Underwood. If you really need to have the loud backline like I do, there's loads of info on fighting feedback over at Rockabillybass.com, or PM me if there's anything I may be able to help with.
  12. hi Owen. what kind of guts are they?
  13. Hi, are they all used?
  14. Bump for great amp. One of the best I've used for my upright in years. Good luck with the sale, great price too.
  15. From the body & button shape, It looks alot like my 70's Boosey & Hawkes ply. Post a pick of the tuners if you can, that'll probably decide It.
  16. More food for thought, thanks for this info, really appreciated. Having a boost in the mids without eq'ing it would be nice.
  17. Good shout sir, I'll do some investigating. If It brought the weight of the cab down a good bit, It would be a cheaper option for me. Plus the 4 12's just sound so good. Anyone else care to chime in on this option? suitable replacement drivers etc?
  18. Looking to downsize in the near future (guestimate at next month or two). Most probably after a straight sale, as I have the option of buying a lighter cab I like soon. May be interested in trade for a high end lighter cab though, 4x10 minimum. Just thought I'd put the feelers out to see if there would be any interest. If not, I'd put up with the weight and size for a bit longer as I love the sound of this cab, just the logistics are becoming a bit of a pain as I need to transport my upright and this cab myself to gigs! Just about room for me to actually drive my car. In good condition, no rips in carpet, grille unmarked, speakers all A1. NOTE- I'm near Glasgow, and shipping could be pricey for this cab. Cheers. Ideally pickup from Glasgow or can deliver within reason. Can be shipped, but buyer must arrange pickup. Price dropped to £500, bargain price for the best cab I've owned.
