  1. Blackstar headphone amp into Sony headphones (cheap but effective). Also have a little Hartke 150 practice amp that does the job. Then it’s any of my basses that I fancy.
  2. Just got back from seeing Track Dogs, very entertaining. Bassist had a very battered Fender Jazz with the TV logo so probably 70’s, in gold finish which was turning green. Anyone know if this is a common occurrence with metallic gold finishes?
  3. Bread and butter - the Newbeats
  4. Not appealing & way to expensive.
  5. Blowin’ in the wind(ow) Bob Dylan
  6. Roll over Beethoven - Chuck Berry
  7. This is so true @Nice Guy Rich. If you offering praise to the King of the Universe, it needs to be the best you can possibly play/sing. As an aside, it’s really difficult for a congregation to get a lead from badly played music. I remember one time when a music group was endeavouring to play “Indescribable” but really weren’t getting close and someone said it was more like “Unrecognisable “. I hasten to add I was not in that band.
  8. Ain’t nobody here but us chickens- Louis Primo
  9. Me myself I - Joan Armourtrading
  10. I suppose the bonus here is you can oil your chopping board too!
  11. Bit hard on poor Jools! You have to admit though he has a fantastic band, they are all ace musicians. Seen them live loads of times and it’s always entertaining.
  12. I thought you were referring to a shortage of fivers (£5). 😆

  14. Poke salad Annie - Elvis
  15. Money for nothing - Dire Straits
  16. Thanks for the technical info. Never really understood that. It was of course created by none other than Les Paul as this was originally the Gibson Les Paul Signature bass from the seventies and was a low impedance pickup. Jack Casady rediscovered them and the Epiphone made by Peerless was the result.
  17. Euros are built in the Czech Republic and this certainly looks like a clone of a Spector.
  18. They don’t want any ric-raff playing them!
  19. Video killed the radio stars. - Buggles
  20. Boom boom John Lee Hooker
  21. Latchepen last Sunday. Superb guitar playing with a brilliant fiddle player and talented young upright bassist.
  22. Had 2 octave mandolas which are more comfortable to play than the bouzouki. My 2 had different scale lengths. Both now sold.
  23. Don’t you lie to me- Chuck Berry
  24. Ebony eyes - Everley Brothers
