    It should be a criminal offence. I bought a P bass with loads on the scratch plate once. Even after removing them you could see the shapes as the plate had changed colour but not under the stickers. Cleaned and sanded it to within an inch of its life but could still see the shapes. Sold it on.

    I hanker for an EB2 as well, the annoying thing I used to own one! They don’t play that well, but still………, not at the silly prices they are asking now. I traded mine for £650.

    In the early days Gary Tallent of the E Steet Band used one. It’s probably the bass sound on born to run. you can see it in the background in this clip from 1975.

    Make that 4; don’t forget the semi based on the 335 shape was also an EB. When I think again it’s 5 or 6; the violin shaped one 2 versions of the EB0 ; the semi 2; the 3 which was a 0 with an extra pickup……………..are you still me…..

    If it’s HHpickup configuration you’re after, the Gibson EB (2013 & 2014 models) are great alternative and have a similar shape. The added advantage are pull pot which change the humbuckers to single coils.
