ever thought of having one made, not as expensive as you might think....i think i paid around £500 for the black p body with jazz neck used in this promo. i love it.

count bassey...it's just an opinion i've formed whist pursuing a good home hifi. Before spending my cash I listened to many systems and vinyl sonically i felt always came out on top...so i bought a cd player:-) I felt that records always delivered more detail and i can't explain why but mostly sounded warmer to me imo. Just to say all systems had no tone controls. i bought a cd player because i had loads of cd's and knew i wouldn't keep records in good condition so if i heard the slightest crackle or pop it would have to go.
-
I still listen to cd's through a half decent system and still buy the occasional one now and again...hopefully they'll stick around for some years to come yet. Never was a fan of vinyl but I had a crappy record player and everything sounded like I'd poured a packet of crisps over the thing. Saying that, I've no doubt that vinyl is the best format when looked after and played on a quality turntable.

chris_b, I really don't mind spending money on something that I think will make my life easier, even only slightly. i'm not keen on setting different volumes on each guitar, i like to have any bass i play on full volume but not have to change the settings on my amp or compression pedal.....i'm gunna go for the Lehle 3 at 1.
-
Cheers jacko but i'm thinking the easier option is going to be setting up a pedal once at a practice or rehearsal and hopefully not having to mess about too much at the soundcheck. Then I'll have more time to help the drummer carry all his gear in.;-)

Thanks for all the replies everyone, I am sure the solution is here and all that is left to do is some research on the options.

Thanks Ead, that looks just the job. Perfect.

Over many years I'd always take a spare bass to gigs and only use the second one if I snapped a string. Never using any pedals I would quickly reset the gain and volume and crack on. Since joining my latest band I have added a pedal board using an mxr m87 compressor - mxr m89 overdrive - chase bliss warped vinyl mk11 vibrato/chorus. Anyway mid gig I decided to use the spare bass just because I thought the next few numbers we were about to do would sound better using my P Bass. It's only our second gig and I thought I'd give it a go. Well, most of you probably can guess, the P signal was a lot hotter than my yamaha and the compressor light level meter went into the red. I was in the dark and there are more knobs on the pedal than pedals for a learner driver. I did in the end just turn the volume down on the guitar until the meter looked ok. So...is there such a thing as a pedal or some way to equal out the two guitar signals so I can swap 2 or 3 guitars during a gig while not having to adjust anything on the pedal board or the guitars as I think in future there will be more of a need to do this?

Some of our second gig last Saturday in Marlborough. Still some tightening up to be done but we enjoyed it.

Just purchased a pedal from Chris. Great communication and the pedal arrived a day after payment. Also packed so well there was no fear of damage in transit.

Cheers Loz. Ooops, I do use a thumb pick also which helps. Mike, At the moment we play all of The Crossing bar two numbers. I love Porrohman and the Storm. I'd like to stick to the first three albums but the rest of the band want to have something from all the BC albums. We'll see what happens. Silvia, Thanks. I realised my mistake as soon as I'd posted, tried to delete and re post correctly but I'm afraid I'm pretty useless.
