Having a bit of a practice 14 years ago with my first bass. 3. 15. Now my ear hurt. Huzzah! There a few apps for ios devices that do hearing tests. I have tired uHear before and i remember it being quite involved and interesting to do.

5. So your using the b string as your lower c? Are they flats? Cheers
6. Hi, having absorbed general advice on strings, I am still after some answers. I am after strings that are suitable for down tuning like the DR DDT's, but that are flatwound/grounwound or nylon wound. I play long scale 4 string in CGCF and currently I am using Fender nylons on my Peavey Cirrus. They suit me well and do the job, but I am expecting an addition to the family and want to try something even nicer. What is the most ideal string for my requirements?
7. I could well do with something for my mid 90's Laney head. I am too thick to think of something amusing though.
8. Jeebers Evil, it's a good job I REALLY want that Warwick off you. Not that I show interest in products I am not serious about buying.
9. There is an unwritten law. Alan Parsons Project: Sirius.
10. I sold my Spector to Russ a few weeks ago and he was a pleasure to deal with. No problems what so ever!
11. I do belive I have pm'ed you
12. The chap in the shop said it was £1800, the one you sampled and yeah, he mention the fiver. Isn't 1800 a bit steep? Mind you, the ray64 was 599, which is cheaper than a quick google shopping search will throw up. I tried the Fender Aerodyne that was in the window. Looks gorgeous, but my god, the tone and volume controls are at war with each other. the E was really farty and I spend most of the time adjusting the thing. Still, very pretty.
13. I went into sounds live today to demo one and they said that you had just been in to test one. damn it. I tired the natural stingray and the ray34 in black. I found it very hard to tell the difference. are the pickups the same?
14. Most kind indeed. I am having trouble shifting it. i don't see why, its amazing.
15. Stop selling this, I am saving for a new laptop!
16. Bumpage. Its a lot of kit for not a lot. Type, thing.
17. thanks, I will give him a ring.
18. Can He actually play the damn thing?
19. I am, when it come to setting up a stringed instrument, clueless. I have tried myself and I am getting it wrong, so wrong. I like hands on learning. I could take my instruments to a shop and have some spotty youth do it for me for 30 quid. But I am sure even I could do a better job. Is there anybody out there in the area who would be kind enough set up my bass for me and show me what they are doing? Is it a big ask? Hope someone can help me out? Cheers
20. I have a Digitech GNX 3 for sale. Comes with power supply, box, CD's, documents and a 128mb memory card (the biggest it will take) for the 8 track. Plenty of bass effects and modelling. Damn fine piece of kit in very good condition. Can be flashed and converted into a BNX 3 (bass version) so I have read. £110 posted or collection from North East £100. http://www.digitech.com/en-US/products/gnx3
21. Sold, pending payment.
22. The 18v circuit on my Peavey Cirrus makes one hell of difference! I never have it passed half way. If I find I am getting lost in the noise, it does help, even turning it up 5.
23. My band mates are ace. Though I am sick of hearing our drummer going "your hair is great" and then turning up with my hair the following week!
24. This is my Spector Legend 6 Classic. I bought this bass new in 2008 and it has never been gigged, only used for practice and mostly in the home. She is gorgeous in looks and sound. The Stuart Spector Design EMG pickups coupled with the Tone Pump Jr. pre amp make for a very sweet sound indeed. Bass Player Magazine rated this as THE best 6 string bass available for under $1,100. Condition wise, she is in like new condition, aside from one crack in the finish, coming from the jack round to the bass tone knob (It can be seen in a photo). This is purely cosmetic and has no effect on the playability and tone of the bass. Included in the sale is a Warwick Rockcase (ABS plastic hard case, picture included.) I prefer local pickup, but I will post in the hard case for added protection via courier for £30. This price reflects Parcel Forces' Enhanced compensation to cover the value of the bass. £350
