Marcus Miller and Melvin Davis along with Will Lee for top, top in your face, on it, in the pocket groove playing - It don't get any better. Clean sounds that are well articulated, lots of 'ghost' notes and mostly very melodic. Yep, I like my slap from the best...

Some 'Sanborn' with plenty of in the pocket playing from Marcus. More Sanborn with the wonderful Bob James (and Marcus of course). Not really Jazz Funk in the spirit of this thread, more than likely too smooth for some, but just some really nice grooves from world class players. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSsGIQt2Lbg

A very good (long time) friend and ex-flat mate of mine played Gtr in the JTQ. (Paul Carr). Also met Paul Francis and was friends (still am, via Facebook these days). He purchased my Wal 5 stg from me. Yes, some good stuff and playing on your links. Brings back some memories for sure. It was a great time for playing groovy/funky lines back then.

Yes, great album. That track always reminds me of the Brand New Heavies for some reason. The very funky mister Andrew Levy on Bass http://youtu.be/9ncIfeFuoqc

Lee Ritenour, Patrice Rushen, Anthony Jackson, Ernie Watts and Harvey Mason (I think). Great Lee Ritenour tune. http://youtu.be/pOdI9oMEPY4

Melvin Davis with his partner in crime 'Sonny Emory', along with Dave Grusin and Lee Ritenour - It don't get any better (for a bunch of old groovers). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlAbZCcoiHg&list=RDgnyE5t_aOIw&index=13

Yes, he is great. Amazing Grooves from the fellow. He can solo a bit as well. Shame he didn't have a Tube Station named after him.

Blimey, what kind of service is this ? I always had it down as a Luxury, European leg of the Orient Express adventure. It seems that post the 'B word', has given us a cute little Noddy train service. I am glad we 'got out Britain back'.

No Neil Stubenhaus on session greats? Great stuff. Must have taken some time? -
What ROConnell said. (although the UR22 mkII is great and can be used with an iPad). I use Cubase Pro, but I do have Elements on my Laptop and it is works a treat. Elements saves me taking the Syncrosoft dongle out on the road - Elements (and A1) are both soft elicenser, so no USB dongle needed. Comparison list. (inc Elements). https://www.steinberg.net/en/products/cubase/line_up.html A1 it seems, has chord pads and chord track. What you get list. Which is very good for a freebie. https://www.steinberg.net/en/products/steinberg_yamaha/cubase_ai.html The UR22 MkII does have midi in/out, which covers you if your midi keyboard/controller is not USB, or you are struggling with spare USB ports. It Integrates with all the Steinberg DAW's, so no set up needed. https://www.steinberg.net/en/products/audio_interfaces/ur_series/models/ur22mkii.html

^^^^^ Yes, the Melvin Davis tracks are great. Superb playing. The Slap playing, apart from being 'on it', hits you right in the guts. So much power.

I have that album. Some great playing on it from all. Pretty much the same band on this (Red Baron). The Bass player is Philippe 'Fifi' Chayeb. He plays great.
There has been alot of excitment about his basses. One of which I own and it is just superb. But his playing is also very cool. Reminds me of Bobby Vega. I'm wondering if he plays guitar also. ? Anyways lovely playing.
Yes. Always loved his playing. No winging it from him - He knows his stuff for sure. Lovely feel.

£100 in your pocket and empty or £30 and packed?
lowdown replied to skidder652003's topic in General Discussion
I would take the £100 and enquire if there is anymore?
