I like a straight neck. I then raise the action until it scares the life out of some bassists. (Fretted and Fretless). Also means Bassists don't borrow my Basses very often. if at all.

Another (totally) free programme for zipping and unzipping. 7-Zip - Very popular and unzips just about anything. (Not that the others mentioned above don't). Tech folks seem to think it has better compression ratios, But who knows? They all do the job for the average needs, just another option really. http://www.7-zip.org

Ha, ha..I was recently out with a friend who was pulling his hair out, regarding auditioning Bass players for an overseas gig. He told me, that most of the folk that turned up, didn't understand 'Bass Player required' part of the ad...Lol...

As a song, it was ok and nor certainly something I hated. Although playing it in function bands, was a boring experience. A tune that just didn't go anywhere, especially at the end of a long evening, when it was hard to keep your eyes open. But on the other hand - Just stand there and think of the cheque.

Listen to as much as you can and try and get a real feel for the various styles. That might mean listening to more traditional (Latin) music from the various regions and cultures.

David Arnold scores moved the Bond scores on, I wouldn't say they were better than the John Barry scores. The Barry scores were right for the time era, same as the Arnold music. Both brilliant (IMO of course). Small bit of trivia - This will be the first Bond film without Derek Watkins (RIP) on Trumpet. I think he was 17/18 when he recorded 'Dr.No'. A mix of both here. Doesn't fit at all with the 'Bond' image (for me). And that Falsetto nonsense, it really does sound like he is going to s#*t himself.

Still love listening to that version. Bob Mintzers solo is great, Jaco right on it, clean and with lovely intonation. Pan solo has some great phrases in it as well. After all these years, I still have no problem listening to his playing. One of the greats in the Bass world.

Big fan of Rickie Lee Jones over the years, but that was pretty poor from her. JH and his Drummer didn't help, no feel for the style of music whatsoever.
