'Ears-R-Us' should set up a merchandise store in that YouTube thread...Judging by the over positive comments, they would make an absolute fortune. -

A YouTube post: Christy Miller... 8 years ago: "OMG, it's like watching your creepy uncle singing at a wedding with the band..." -
When I was in my last term at school, my school music teacher found out I wanted to be a musician for a living, he decided to try belittling me at every opportunity he could find. He was quite young and fancied himself as a bit of a musical hero. A proper show off. In reality, he had no ears at all, a terrible feel for music, wore Piano players boxing gloves and had an internal metronome that could have done with some new batteries. Finally, I had enough at the end of term when he really went for it in the final lesson.... He pointed at me from behind his upright piano, "what am I playing?" Me "God Save The Queen"...."In F....for some reason" Him again..."Oh, I see" and smirked..."what am I playing now?" Me "God Save the Queen...in G" Him "Playing games then?" Me "no, Mr Clement" Him "What's this then?" and played some minor chord nonsense in his usual non-musical way. Me "I'm not sure...I don't really know, sir" Him..." God Save the Queen in D minor...You need to do some ear training if you want to go far in the business". Me..."Okay, that's fine. But so do you, that was never God Save The Queen in D minor, and you know it...or actually, maybe you don't..." In fairness to him, no more was said, and I never saw him again, until I was working for Lloyd Webber and his JCS show in Norwich. At the end of a show, someone hung over the pit rail, holding a program and said to the MD, "where's xxxxx xxxx, the Bass Guitarist?" The MD pointed to me; I was actually standing next him talking at the time. "Do you remember me?"..."I was teaching you music" (or he said something similar" His face looked familiar, then it came horrifically flooding back...he said "Mr Clement"... Me: Ah yes, of course. Him, putting his hand out for a shake; "how are you?" Me: "F**k Off..." I then walked off with the MD for a beer...hoping Clement wasn't going to be in the pub. And he wasn't I wasn't proud of myself, and it was really out of character for me, also the MD was quite taken back with my behaviour. But we all had a good laugh about it in the pub. The MD found it really amusing, although myself, I was a bit worried for a couple of days...

Although modern Jazz, I have played the two below enough times for them to fall into that category: 'Friday Night at The Cadillac Club' and 'Walk Between the Raindrops'. Big Band vocal & instrumental versions.

After his recent open letter to Ukraine's first lady, Olena Zelenska. Roger Waters should retire to a local Dog & Duck with some backing tracks.

I have a Piano Sketch template in my DAW with two Pianos already loaded up. If I have a melody already in my head, that will be played into Piano one. Chords will then go into Piano two. If I'm stuck for ideas and have just been noodling around on a piano patch. I will hit retrospective record and listen back through the midi data and keep and develop anything from there. Either way, the midi date/events will be tidied up and broken down and arranged into Orchestra tracks, or Rock/ EMD/Hybrid etc I never start with drums and/or percussion, that is usually added/programmed later as I go along with the various Apps I have. Same with any other VST/Rompler Instruments that flash through my head. More recently, I have been composing in the Dorico 4 notation app (mainly the Orchestral or Jazz/Big Band pieces), and this is exported over into Nuendo for the serious work using my better libraries. I like working this way with larger tunes/orchestrations because I can easily view harmony/chord ideas and spot something I want to change pretty much straight way. Any FX, sound design or experimenting is usually done after my tune and arrangement form has been sorted out before the mixing process. Of course, if used or needed, Bass and Guitars are recorded as audio at some point. Midi controller Keyboard parts and other Instruments are usually played in even if it means tidying up afterwards. This usually keeps any dynamics and CC#'s in place. Sometimes I paint or step record notes into the DAW PRV or notation view and if using Dorico, input is a combination of step input and playing. Retrospective recording has been a very useful tool for me. Many times, it has saved the day when I think I have lost something.

Ah, right, that makes sense as to why I didn't have a problem. My Interface and DAW are set at 48000 all the time.

I'm not sure if you have seen this nice little freebie below?... 'Liquid Death Snare'. It's a VST3 Plugin, not a Kontakt Library. A walk through video is down the bottom of the product page. It's worth having a look at and it might be of interest. Link: Liquid Death™ Snare – Purafied Audio

I take it that you're going to fill those holes in with cement before you gig the Instrument?
