Being a killer player helps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZOCdrwGch4 Garry

All navigates fine here on chrome. The 'What' page opens ok and the Video appears on the right hand side. Uncomplicated site, however the Video clip don't come across well. Very dark and doomy. Always good to have good media floating around a site to keep the interest flowing. After all, you are in the business of entertaining. Good luck with the site, just needs a bit of tinkering. Garry
I'm guessing he's the singer and hence carried no equipment, allowing for his more upright stance. Lightweight
In those days, the lightweight singers who carried no equipment, compensated with a Cucumber wrapped in tin foil, and stuffed down their trouser legs - played havoc with Airport security.
I've just been watching the funk series. Henry Thomas is a great player, and I love his Westone Thunder III slung high up under his chin. His slap bass lesson is classic...thumb, pluck, then professional standard riffs.
This one as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rGbIoii9A-4#! Yep, it was a fun series. Garry

Interesting Video [French TV ?] Producer holds up the 'Scream' board for the first chorus. Then forgets the second chorus....nothing.... Or maybe they were all changing knickers at the time. All good fun.......[Love the ending] Garry
All the theory is telling us is whether it conforms to the tonality of Fmajor, you ear tells you it sounds good (or not, but in this case IMHO it sounds very nice). If it was a D minor chord, played in that inversion, you would have an F natural, but substituing the F# gives voice leading in the chord roots of F, F# (in D maj triad) to G assuming the other chords are in root position.
Indeed, if you move on from just triads or Root chords, things start to open up That second chord of 'D' could become D/F# bass.... or...F# dim/D bass [D7-9] or....D7-9/F# Bass. Garry

How to store the music from YouTube vids as mp3
lowdown replied to BassTractor's topic in General Discussion
I just download the Video with Real Player free. Import the Video file complete with audio file into my DAW. Delete the Video file, then tidy up/trim the Audio file by getting rid of any mess at the start and end. Bring up the volume if needed, then just export. Garry -

I noticed some action Cinematic tracks up on that site................... A whole new ball game as far as panaramic sound staging, width, height and depth are concerned. Not carving out loads of bottom end, and very careful use of panning, comps and eq's, while still keeping a multitude of dynamics, and Orchestral Instrument placement very much still intact...... Lalo Shiffrin is an amazing composer, all those cop themes and scores had so much intrigue in the music, with his Jazz back ground certainly shining through. He could plot and score to the picture with so much ease. Dirty Harry live suite [Not a great sound recording] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3UF29oQ9bM His Big Band concert [2006] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiVgB3TYxks Garry

Mr Blunt now has his name in the good old cockney rhyming slang book................ After necking a few sherbats, that Mozart geezer could be a right old James. Garry
Sorry for late reply not seen this one till now, yeah its the Sonar x2 producer version, its a great DAW with some really great effects and stuff, still just learning the basics. One thing that is doing my head in is I cannot figure out how to rewire Reason into it, its the Droctorex drum machine in Reason that's the problem. I will suss it in the end as I really like it as its simple and easy to add fills and stuff where required. Apart from that its great!
There is a really useful Sonar/Cakewalk tutorial channel up on Youtube now, well worth checking out.
