  1. Down load Reaper, and use it free for this task.[Very small download] If you get on with it, it's cheap to buy. Plenty of Youtube videos showing what you want, for your purpose. The pitching and time stretching is pretty accurate, and if you are not going very far % wise either side of A440 [as in your case] You will more than likely not hear the difference.   3. Playing to click tracks is not a problem, but quite often it can feel unnatural if you are not used to doing it. Click track recording is not unique to DAW recording, or even new in the past 10 years or so. Many of you would have been listening to music recorded using click tracks, way back to the Tom & Jerry days, and from then onwards. Good Busking chops and knowledge of tunes is important, Reading chops a great asset - more options for varied work available [shows and acts/turns and some top end function bands] If it is just an ear job and you have not done the gig before, ask for an emailed set list [usually one suprise on the list - but usually the same old stuff] If it's an original numbers one off gig [I tend to stay away from] be prepared to rehearse, it's the bands reputation at stake and less yours. Being out of your comfort zone, might be a good experience for you - but certainly not the other Musicians working with you. Pub gigs, around £50.00 is about normal... Functions/Weddings/Show deps/Corporate gigs anywhere between £100 & £300 depending on distance, finish time and any expenses involved. Corporate overseas weekends will pay more. Having an evening suit of blacks comes in handy, any vocals or backing vocals always a winner. Freelancing/Depping is a great way of picking up contacts. Above all enjoy it

But hey, 'It was the 80's - everyone [50%, some, a few, Dennis] was rejoycing the 'Thatcher' era and having a good time.   6. I have the U5 - And just love it, more than likely that there are many more out there that do the job just as great. I purchased two second hand for £500.00 [long story but all legal] Sold one of them to a lucky Bassist from South Essex for £250.00. Win win all round, lovely pre-amps. Garry

  11. Hi Ian, Whenever i have come across anything like that [or i am unsure about] during the rehearsals i always talk it over with the MD or Musical supervisor..... They usually say 'Do what you want, i am to busy with the cast' Not done that show - what about getting hold of the cast CD and having a listen ? It would give you a better idea if things get confusing. Good luck with the show. Garry

  16. Any convolution reverbs [some great freebies out there - google] And you can use many of the free IR's available. These will give you some great Cab IR sim's, also loads of IR Pre-amp sims available. If you are not familiar with this approach, well worth a google read up. Nothing to lose, plenty of freebies knocking about. Garry

Chic was their band, but they were also responsible for an awful lot of other artists with their writing, playing and production. Nile is terrific on this, as is BE with some 'chucking' thrown in.
