3.
Apple are now primarily selling their software through the Mac App Store. Your best bet would be to buy it from there, as it is a lot cheaper than any boxed version. The current version of Logic Pro is £140 plus £21 for MainStage (if you want that). https://itunes.apple...459578486?mt=12 https://itunes.apple...459585276?mt=12 I don't think that they do upgrade pricing any more, so I wouldn't bother with an older version. They have also discontinued the cut down Express version.
http://basschat.co.uk/topic/192336-buying-logic-which-one/page__view__findpost__p__1874090 Garry
 4. Logic Pro 9.1.8 download is half the price [or a least a lot cheaper] of boxed version. about $200.00 Good deal if you after LP9. Extra $30.00 for Mainstage. What you get. 5. For any Reaper Fanboi's............... Very nice looking skin here. Enjoy. http://www.houseofwhitetie.com/reaper/imperial/wt_imperial.html Garry
 6. I have to say that Reaper is pretty Impressive how it is constantly updating at a fast rate, and listing to it's forum customers regarding future improvements. Garry
 7. I suppose it's about what your needs are. For me I need a MIDI score/notation editor as well as extensive PRV editing. Be able to move video clips any where on the time line [And work properly] and VST3 MIDI expression plus some other MIDI stuff not in Reaper. I have tried Reaper, and yep it's great, but does not do the above for my needs. None of this is really helpful for the OP though. Garry
 8.
i use an old version of cubase, if i was to buy a new version it would cost me 700 quid, unless you are a pro studio you just can't afford that
Cubase 6.5 you can get for just over £400.00 Cubase 6.5 Artist for about £230.00 [Plenty of features] Nuendo of course is another matter. 12. Why render to Mp3 to import into Soundcloud ? [For this Competition] Soundcloud accepts Wav files. Garry
 13. Great stuff Phil - Nice and solid, and consistent Intonation as well. Well played. Garry

 15. Any one using this - And first Impressions ? With Sibelius up in the air, and Steinberg hiring the ex Sib founders, things might take a while to settle down. So i am starting to look elsewhere, possibly Finale. But this looks real cool, Notation and Sequencer for composing, rather than go back and forth with Midi files, Articulations transferring to MIDI, all looks good. Seven gig sample library [Orchestral & Rock sounds] x64 bit, x64 Rewire host & slave, and weighing in at £83.00 download price. You can add extra sound packs to the Sample Library at about £15.00 ago. I think there are Jazz and Big Band sounds on the way. Details.......... 17.
IMNSHO, Faithless neither deserves nor needs the sarcastic distrust that is dripping from your post. Also, have you never seen a broadcasting organisation's orchestra back up a pop singer? Then you need to come out less. Also, "really famous" may well mean "really famous locally, and it's not interesting for you brits to read the name of a Lithuanian pop singer". best, bert
Agreed. Plenty of Orchestrated backing horn [Trpts/Saxes/Bones] sections over the past 40 years, On hundreds of pop tunes, Even a Trombone solo. The list goes on and on. Garry

 19.
is there anything that EZ drummer provides that I might find useful?
The Latin Percussion expansion pack is very useful. You can use individual elements in non Latin tracks. The midi files [And there are loads of them] have a nice swing about them. 21.
I feel that one of the most useful aspects of music notation is that it gives you a 'visual' way of understanding and representing rhythm. I've always used visual shapes on the fingerboard to help me learn various basslines, scales, arpeggios, etc. I have found this to be a very easy and natural way to learn this pitch-related information, but when learning the rhythmic side of music I felt that it was less clear and obvious because I didn't have a visual way of understanding it. Music notation gives you clear and simple way of understanding, representing and memorising rhythms.
Yep, same for me. Can't go far wrong with great ears and great reading chops. Garry

 24. Hey Ellie, you are doing a gig just up the road from me on Wednesday [Haystack] - I might pop in and see the band. Dean Markley SR2000's Stainless Steel Rounds 47/67/87/107 with a custom 135 B string. Fretted & Fretless. Nice and tight, great for finger and slap. Very meaty & Zingy, and last quite a while. Bit pricey, but have been using them for a while and love them. Garry
 25. I have read a couple of times over the years that it was indeed Max Bennett. Max Bennett has had a fantastic career, and is a great player with a solid Jazz back ground. His web sites....
