since starting on DB, my gigs have gone down by about 75% so the 'DB will get you more gigs' argument is not as robust as one would like to think
[/quote]
Possible you are in the wrong game then.
Try something else, maybe writing books.....
Good luck with the book Rob.

The creativity is in the chord changes, syncopation, form, arrangement........the list can go on.

This for me as well.

Playing with velocities, and moving notes[hits] to either side of the grid line [not bang on]
along with 'thinking' how a drummer would play the part goes along way to getting very usable
Drum tracks. The EZdrummer midi files do this along with a lot of the stuff out there these days.

I have done this show a few times,
every where from the West End to Tokyo,
Its a real blast to play on Bass.
It's not that taxing, an easy [sight] read and as someone above said,
If its a good band, its a real groove.
Enjoy.

I cut mine down to only Two. [Well three, Charlie Parker Omni book in Bass clef]
Mark Levine & Samual Adler.
The Samual Adler book is ongoing for me.
Mark Levine book i poke into every now and then.
I seem to get more out of transcribing these days.

As a freelancer, for me my essentials are....
Volume pedal, Sans Amp DI, Tuner.
I have the rest, Chorus, Octave pedal etc.
But will only take or use them if i know they are [really] needed.
I keep it lean and clean and as less fussy as i can,
mainly because its then a hassle free time with the engineer.

'Magic' Musical moments in pop history - I was talking to someone yesterday about that very thing.
Something magical to ones self is not always magical to others.
I think that chord unites everyone and goes down in Music folk law.
Would be interesting to see what other 'moments' people on this forum can come up with.

So, now we know. Its G, C F A and D. In theoretical terms its a voicing of a F6/9 chord (F, G, A, C and D = i, III, V, VI & II (IX)). Paul played the D, which is the relative minor.
[/quote]
So its a case of how many Beatles does it take to play a Jazz chord [D Minor7 add 11] ?

I always get mine form the same eBay store - [url="http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Babz-Media"]http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Babz-Media/DURACELL-PROCELL-BATTERIES-/[/url]
£7.49 for 10 Duracell Procells. More you buy cheaper they are as well. I've been using them for all batteries for about 18 months now. Generally arrive within 2 days, often next day and usually free delivery too!

Thanks for the link, going to order some stuff later.
It also looks a handy place to get tools for the Cat Burglar business.

Buying a bass is a bit like making love to a beautiful woman.
Only go with the ones you like, for whatever you reason you like them...
When you go off them for whatever reason, pass them on.
