If I put a Mahler Symphony staff in front of them, could they sightread it first time?
To be honest Geoff, there would be plenty on Basschat or any other " Musicians" forum who would make a quick exit, When they came face to face with that. Garry -
^ Brilliant!! Well done Gary, that's great news mate Nice track too. Good work.
Just been demoing Reason 6 rewired into Studio One V2. Pretty cool man, i see why you like Reason, some great stuff in there. Looks like i might have to bite the bullet with R6, some great sounds in there. Studio One is totally Gap-less, so you can jump between the two for editing, without stopping the sequencer, and with no glitching or Audio drop outs. Garry

A few days ago, i just had this track licensed through a Library company i use, for a Sony PSP mini game. As a back ground looped instrumental [Release Jan 2012] This was at a Buy out price, and quite a good payer. Someone listened to the track on Soundcloud then contacted me for possible Licensing. Then my Library company did the rest. So it seems Soundcloud could have good benefits after all...
It's not ringing any bells at the moment, I do remember a lot of Dicks & at least 2 Johns, I'll try to get the grey matter churning
AP worked for VOX at some point, then opened a amp repair shop up in Dartford [with a guy called Dick] Was quite a wiz for repairing gear, and hiring stuff out while he was fixing stuff. He became quite a hero. His workshop seemed to be open all night for popping in to borrow/hire an Amp or cab. Garry
There was another factory in Hastings which never gets mentioned but I worked there back in the days, we couldn't churn out AC30s fast enough! Sometimes made visits to Dartford or Erith transporting kit between units.
Did you know a guy called Alan Pine by any chance ? Garry
And if you're after some virtual instruments (which Reaper doesn't bloat itself with) then download the free Kontakt player from the Native Instruments site as it contains around 1GB of sounds. Also grab the free version of Sampletank from IK Multimedia. There's a free synth (Reaktor Spark I think it is) from the NI website too.
EZdrummer download price at the moment $29.00 [Just under £19.00] http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EZdrummer/ Garry

What bass was this on The X Factor last night ?
lowdown replied to far0n's topic in General Discussion
I think the Bass players name is Sally. Garry -
Good deal going on for EZdrummer at the moment. Download price $29.00. Just about the easiest Drum module/sampler around, with some great expansion packs. I have had stuff from Sweetwater before, no problems at all with them. http://www.sweetwate...tail/EZdrummer/ Garry

Greg Phillinganes & Stevie Wonder for me. Giorgio Moroder on some of the older sequenced stuff. Herbie Hancock & George Duke did some great stuff. And of course Bernard Wright. And if you want human. Garry
Hell's teeth didn't realise that the bass on this was played by TM Stevens.
Yep, and a great Bass line. Garry
Hi Mark, The album is called 'Streamline'. Bassist is Marcus Miller (who was only 19 at the time!). Another fave from the album is this brilliant cover of Lady Madonna with Chaka Khan on vocals. Enjoy, Steve
I have this album - great stuff. Posted " Lady Madonna " a couple times on BC. Twelve bars from Mars is stonkin', and some groovy fretless from Marcus on " I'll see you soon " Shame the green like arrow has disappeared up its own warehouse for poop Although i voted to get rid of it.. Video Killed The Radio - First Few Seconds?
And the same as I wrote. Just different note positions. Had to play it in a show some 2 years ago. I remember it as I didn't have time to swap to my fretless. Just used my volume pedal to try and get the Mwah! effect.
Sorry about that, i only noticed your post after i had posted...
Thank God for that! 'Jazz solo'... is that a euphemism?
To some a Jazz Solo is very offensive. A bit like Morris Dancing. Garry
Did someone say something about Morris Dancing? Where did that go? Did I imagine it?
Twas me - Then an edit went all Jazz solo on me.... Carry on. Garry
I hate this song but i'm so glad I know how to play it now.
But wrong.. 3rd chord is 2 Minor. Not that it really matters, or will indeed make it a happier Xmas. Garry

Just had a listen on YouTube. It's in 'D'...Init ? With less than perfect A440 Synth tuning. Quite notorious well used out of tune Synth sounds from that period. But hey, who cares.
Hey Garry, Do you know any info with advice on doing simple, not orchestral, [pop] tunes' chord charts/transcriptions? easy Laimis
Hey Laimis. I am not quite sure what you are asking - Software based ? When i was at collage [many moons ago] we used to share this book around a lot. The great Henry Mancini - 'Sounds and Scores A Practical Guide to Professional Orchestration' Transcribing and arranging for small Band & small ensembles. It's Jazz based harmony & changes [mainly from his film scores]. But it uses chord shapes & notation combined. Lots about chord voicing, simple and coloured. http://www.musicroom.com/se/ID_No/048007/details.html These days consecutive 5ths are broken all the time - especially in film Music I do believe Mozart & Chopin liked to piss people off doing it. The Samuel Adler and Rimsky Korsakov books are great for full on understanding of Orchestral Scoring & arranging. The Rimsky Korsakov book, although quite old - Is still very much used these days as reference. Enjoy the up coming TV series Laimis. Garry

Disney's Hercules Soundtrack - who played bass?
lowdown replied to cureswhatailsye's topic in General Discussion
The chances are that there were different players involved. Try his management company [Alan Menken] - Kraft-Engel Management. Email them for the personal - who knows ? On the other hand they might tell you to feck off and mind your own business... Good luck Garry -
This guy does a few Jackson things, and I think he really captures the vibe
Yep - Adam has been around a bit, plenty of heart & soul. Another one in the 'Elephant Ear Club' Garry

Heads up on this site, it's not a freebie. But some really useful top notch and informative material for download, and world wide postage. Some boxed DVD stuff as well.
