  1. Notable Deaths 2022 - Page 29 - Off Topic - Basschat EDIT: Sorry, Mickeyboro (above) has just pointed the thread out.
  2. The late, great, Mike Lang on Piano. He played on over 2,000 film scores, so you've probably heard him play at some point over the years.
  3. An excellent 'free' synth called 'Asper'. No email sign up or any other nonsense, just download the .dll files (x32, x64 and x64 VST3) and place them in you VST folder(s). You can just delete the .dll file(s) if it doesn't appeal to you. The rundown and download link: Asper by zOne.sk - Synthesiser Plugin VST VST3 (kvraudio.com)
  4. Seeing as Fender now own 'Presonus', maybe they will ditch their Guitars and Basses in favour of Virtual Guitar VST's inside of Studio One...
  5. 5th August 1992. R.I.P Jeff Porcaro, one of the best.
  6. If anyone can make room for a 'Foghorn' in this months challenge... Spitfire Audio have released one for their free 'LABS' library: LABS Foghorn
  7. We use Nuendo and there is always a pop up window asking for sample rate conversions into project settings when importing (if needed). Same for video frame rates...Surely Pro Tools has the same, or something similar? I thought most DAW's would have the different options for importing/exporting? You don't really want sample rate miss match going on. In this day and age, it's a bit naughty of 'Zencastr' not mentioning that there had been an update to the App. Especially if you use monthly subscriptions.
  8. Same here. I never tire of listening to either, especially Lyle Mays.
  9. Sorry... I meant Audio devices for PC, as in Windows machines (as opposed to Macs). Macs use Core Audio.
  10. I believe Asio4ALL don't like sharing Apps. This below may help. Some folks seem to have similar problems. Playback of Reaper and other applications simultaneously External Audio devices (PC's, using ASIO drivers) are always worth investigating, especially for the price you can get them at these days. In the end, they save you a lot of grief. Sorry, I know it's not what you want to hear at the moment.
  11. Regardless of what you use for an Audio output (onboard or external), it should show up in 'Output Range' (In Dads screenshot above). For some reason, your onboard audio output device is not showing. I might be going too deep here but, first port of call should be to see if you onboard audio device is enabled. Go to device manager - 'Sound, Game and Video controllers' - right click to enable/disable.
  12. I know nothing about Reaper....But, what are you using for an Audio out (output range)? Is it an onboard soundcard?
  13. @wishface Try my link above.
  14. Double post removed.
  15. You will need an interface for ASIO drivers. Although, I think Asio4ALL (drivers) might do the job in your case. Try this link: ASIO4ALL - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download
  16. A very nice freebie library from 'Fluffy Audio', although, you will need the full version of Kontakt: Khim | FluffyAudio There are six other nice freebies at the bottom of this link as well: FluffyAudio Free Libraries
  17. Yes, top playing. The Bassist is Jim Hughart, he was a busy LA studio player. He was one of Carol Kaye's students..! The whole album is excellent and crammed with LA's finest studio players from back then. Top, tight arranging from Patrick Williams as well with great harmonizing. I believe the track above won a Grammy for Best Instrumental Arrangement of the year. (Tom Scott on Jazz flute).
  18. TV theme composer and arranger from back in the day. 'Street Of San Francisco' was one of his many themes. From the album of the same name. Top playing and arranging.
  19. I have just given that a run out. It's low on resources and does the job well..! 👍
  20. Well, Punks?
  21. Yes, a very good channel for tips etc. I actually find what he is doing pleasing on my ears.
  22. If you do a search for Lalo Schifrin, a whole load of info appears about the players he used on his sessions. There is so much information on the page that goes back a fair while, I found it easier to do a filter name search for the various players, conductors, composers etc: Lalo Schifrin
  23. This thread unearthed itself when I was searching for 'The Wrecking Crew'. The link below is a 'Wrecking Crew' Facebook page if anyone is interested. Quite often, if you click on 'show more' in the post, it will sometimes list any session musicians involved. Plenty of good info as well. I'm not really sure who runs the page, other than his name is Denny... The Wrecking Crew | Facebook
