All i want to do is make up chord charts with time and key sig, and lyrics. I've got Finale but it's all too roundabout. Last looked for such a thing a coupla years ago and nothing. Any new app out there that might be good for this?
To be honest if you have Finale, go with that, dead easy to do what you want. For your purpose you would just use add lyric or just Text input for the Lyrics, and just click add chord and use the one[s] you want. Key sig and time sig you just add when you open up a new document. Garry

Mike Batt was not just resposible for the Wombles - he wrote tunes used by loads of acts, and also various TV stuff, He also surrounded himself with top class Musicians. I get the feeling he knew what he was doing. Garry
the f***in wombles playing at the biggest rock festival on the planet beggars believe?
Lets face it, Glastonbury has always been a Council tip of bursting at the seams rubbish....[mostly, a few acts save the day] So why single out a multi single selling hairy rock band? seems just the ticket to me.
Man these guys are good.. i so dig Abs playing.. never mind Lee.. great stuff.. Abraham has got a style like no other.. Yep great stuff. Garry -
Another high action here as well, strung 46-135. I can do all the tricks on it with little effort. And much prefere the meaty sound i can get [for me anyway] with a big clean sound when DI'ed. I suppose its all down to the player. No right or wrong way. Garry
I'm not sure if this is within the rules, but I'll post it anyway! Absolutely love this cover of As, done by the ever brilliant Gene Harris: so much funk there should be a warning label.
Yep that was a great version - any idea who sang it ? being trying to find out for ages. Edit - just looked on the Youtube site, Jerry Peters on vox, and Harvey Mason on drums. And talking of Harvey Mason - by looking at his Facebook page, there seems to be a new album brewing with George Benson. To be honest, there are to many to list for me. Like you i have just about everything he has done. The Talking Book album gets a lot of play on my systems. Really love this track from that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H--_-gPX3Nw...feature=related The guy is just superb all round, and as they say 'It don't get any better than that' Good topic Bubinga, Garry -
Basschaters I’m really getting into GarageBand on my Mac, (stuffing around with the effects and EQ) editing numbers that I record via a Zoom recorder at our band practice sessions. I’m now getting to a point where I want to do bit more and am looking for a few pointers on what Audio recording software and hardware other Basschaters use and why? I’m not sure, that GarageBand is the way forward, I hear lots of other software being referred to on this site, and perhaps a different brand would be better? Anyway it’d be interesting to get other Basschaters to let us (me) all know what they get up to on the recording side of things – some of the stuff I hear on this very site, done with imagination and low budget, has been really very good quality – how do you do it chaps? Oggy
I say go back to the basics! Garry

In the late 70's - my dad took the plyers to my Fender Jazz [ actually it had been his] and ripped the frets out and filled the gap - why?.... Because Jaco had, so everyone else was having a go... I still have and use it to this day - i am on my second board though [nice bit of dark Ebony that has lasted about 10 years till now] Garry
Jaco was, in many ways a lick player. If you listen to a lot of his stuff, you will eventually hear his cliches.
To be honest this is true of a lot of the greats, They just manage to store thousands more than the average soloist, that gets them from A to B. Not all of course. Garry
