2.
PMed!
You have PM.... I mean a message Garry
 3. 1988 Stingray 5..Blueburst A couple of very small surface nicks on the back...so small you can hardly notice.. No buckle rash...nice straight neck. At some point in the past..the white pup cover was changed to black. [from EB] Not a Musicman fan myself...but this does sound and play great.. Nice warm bottem end. To cut a long story short... i got this for my nephew...of the Bay... about 5/6 weeks ago.. checked on the EB forum , and is from the summer 1988. He is off to the states to study bass...this was our present to him.... But he cant get on with a 5 stg at the moment... [still using his trusty but awful Tokai jazz] So i am willing to trade for a good quality 4 stg. maybe cash either way. Garry
 4.
THIS AS BEEN ON THE BAY BUT NOT SOLD THIS REALLY IS A GREAT BASS OPEN TO SWAPS NOW
You have Pm Garry
 5. Great looking Bass..!! Two Questions.. Where did you get that scratch plate...? And what difference sound wise is The Seymore Duncan system compared to the the stock pup/eq...?? Garry
 6. Looking down the neck towards the headstock... which way to loosen the rod...? The neck is very flat , and i like a small amount of bow. wanna be sure before i move it. Always had rod's adjusted from the headstock end. Garry
 7.
The reviews at Harmony Central...
Some reviews here... http://www.bassplayer.com/article/visual-s...al/jul-07/29674 Some Punter's reviews here. But this is for the older model that i have..[green led's ] Harmony central is a bit mixed http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...rsary+Edition/1 I must say i have had no problems in over 8 years of use with my one ...might have been lucky. But the light thing...has come in useful for dep's on any show i have been doing.. The pit can be a dark an lonely affair..so some visual guide at what volume to play..can come in handy...i just write the number onto the part for some kind of reference.. Then they wont have some lunatic MD screaming at them...when they have enough on there plate..!! As for a difference in sound.. i cant say that i have noticed.... Maybe it's because i aint been using my ears.. Enjoy the Ernie Ball. Garry
 8.
Was at a lock in at a pub in Andover when the guitarist from The Troggs celebrated his 50th birthday. Of course 'Wild Thing' got played over the pub speakers and my mate in a loud voice shouted "I love The Stones"
This is really weird...i was in a pub lock in with The Guitarist from the Trogg's in Andover...!!! When was this...??? Unless he does this all time...to tell the 'Troggs in the studio story' Garry
 9.
I know i could, that's why I might still get it Still is gay though... But have just checked reviews and it seems they're not that good anyway... And if it's wider, no chance...
Not sure what reviews you have read..... I have had one of these for years....and they are great...[i know plenty of people who love em..] As for being gay...use it without the 'gay' lights on. They also have a very smooth foot action.Which is great if you are wearing pink light weight slippers. Garry
 10. On a wedding gig a long while back..... And the grooms mother said... Can you do .... 'Go on...now go' We were not sure if she ment...I will survive ... Or , on your bike lads [and girls]....! Garry
 11.
Sound clips?
I think it will just sound like whatever Bass you put through it...i think.... Because that is the idea....the true sound of your Bass. Most other DI Boxes are not any good at that... certainly the one's in my Experiance [ they tend to sound very thin] Anyway this is my Singlecut Rim Bass on a rehashed bit of Library Music i done. [its been re uploaded to my Space] Just The back Pup in dual coil mode...run Passive.. Warwick Black label strings [45-135] and high action. Alex...your Rim is Looking the Business....Good one..!! I mean You Rim Bass...... Garry
 12. Hi Robbie... The Bass for Alex is looking real good..!! Sorry have not been in touch about Lifting my Pups... Been on a new show and cant find the time to get over... When i get a chance i will call you...but it looks like you are busy...! Garry
 13. I had sim problems ... and started to use a 135 B string..thru the body... And it really tightened things up... Infact i went with Warwick Black Label's 45/135.. Every thing nice and tight...though i do tend to use a high action. Garry
 14. Like this guys Balls...!! Top man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpNX9AekB1k...ted&search= Garry
 15.
Is it me or is his timing a little out in places? Probably just me
Do you mean this one...!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6_dDc3FgJA...ted&search= If so...its just not you..it's me also.. Garry
 16.
It's quite hard to say a lot about! It just does what it does very well. Alex
Yep Alex...it sure does... Loads of gain...so even with a low output passive bass...plenty there with loads left over. Very clean sound , so just the the REAL sound of your Bass , no colouring at all.... If you want a pre-amp sound , there is half a dozen tone shape presets..enhancers really..but nicely voiced..and no noise whats so ever. As Alex said...it does what it say's,,and really well. Well built as well...rock solid.... This is a real pro bit of kit... Garry
 17. Well it turned up a couple of days ago... And it is one serious bit of kit.. I will put a sound clip later on today.. Garry
 18.
Hang on, this isn't an effect, what's this thread doing here?
I know..... But does say including signal processing and effects... And the Avalon does have tone presets.... so that is signal processing ...Maybe.! Not having a bash...but did not know where to post.... And having seen Bassferret getting out his pram over flatwound strings elsewhere... I wanted to avoid all that.. Anyway Alex...i use RIM Basses...so that makes me a nice loving cuddley geezer... Garry
 19. Link working for me now..... Must have been a problem with my connection.. Thanks all... Just waiting near the front door for it to arrive....
 20. Thanks folks... It was getting real spooky here on my own...!! Did try trolling around for a second hand one...with no luck.. plus i needed one pronto... So bit the bullet and went for one new from Thomman... £377.00 inc postage[free] and got some DR'S at the time.. [they are a good price as well..worth checking out] Glad to hear i have made a good move. Just needed to hear some feeedback. As for sitting on Steve's lap...dont like the sound of that...! Think i will leave that up to the Smith.. Hey 99ster That link does not seem to be working...will try later... Steve..not sure you are interested..But over at the Yellowculture.com site.. they are giving away a free sampler with about over a gig and a half of sounds, with more to come over the next few weeks. Its called Independance and the link http://www.yellowtools.us/cp21/cms/index.php?id=782 They are a bit busy at the momnet so be patient.
