  1. I love that album. It's interesting how the Trio have been panned as well, Ray Brown on the right side. You can hear every note and articulation so clearly.
  2. Most of the Albums that Bilbo has already mentioned are always on my list. Also, a couple of albums with John Patitucci I really like: Chick Corea - The Electric Band. And, JP's Double Bass work on 'Dave Grusin - West Side Story'.
  3. I got that album when it first came out and to this day, it's still one of my all time favourite albums. The playing, groove and arrangements on it are blinding.
  4. I once witnessed an officers mess (drunken) game which was a 'Jousting' contest. One officer would sit on the shoulders of another officer (the horse). The one sitting on top (the knight) had one arm outstretched with his fist clenched. Then on a signal, they would charge another knight on his horse and try to knock them over. This would go on until someone fell off. Also, bets were being taken. At some point, a senior office entered and stopped it. He explained to all the idiots who were engaging in the Jousting competition, that when you sit on the shoulders of someone else, you are in fact, quite a bit taller and.... very likely that you will hit your head, or worse, decapitate yourself on the ceiling mounted, spinning tropical fan....these were officers...
  5. The Gurkhas made the best Curries.
  6. I seemed to have made a career out of forces gigs...apart from the usual functions and Xmas shows in this country... I have done tours during the 1970's and 80's of Germany (USAF, British and Nato bases) with various Soul and Rock acts. A good part of the 90's working on the British CSE tours, backing a lot of the TV Celebs and older pop acts. The shows were mini production shows with three or four turns and a bunch of dancers, a tour manger, along with lighting and sound crew etc...There was a pool of us, about 25 musicians, so you would go out a few times a year on two week tours. The same players and MD's, just different combinations. Apart from personal Instruments, all the gear was provided. These tours included, The Falklands and Ascension islands, again Germany, Cyprus, Belize, Northern Island and a couple of the Highland camps and bases. Plus Kuwait and Saudi a few days after the first Gulf War. Every show, without fail, the show folks would be hosted in any of the Junior ranks mess', Sergeants mess' or the Officer club/mess for a meal and a fosters up. It was their way of saying thank you. They all tried to out do each other. They had to be better than the previous venue... I must say, each rank was as bad as each other for Shenanigans and Boozing. The further you got away from the UK, the more outrageous they got. From CSE tours in Belize and The Falklands.
  7. You will need the full version of Kontakt for this one but, it's a wonderful (free) Piano. LINK: The page scrolls left to right. https://www.audioollie.com/olliesfreebies
  8. Logic....You've already done a bit of an apprenticeship with GarageBand. Like BRX has already said, after the initial financial layout, it will be quite a while before you get Gas, or indeed the need for 3rd party FX plug-ins and synths. Logic is pretty well stacked with excellent tools for the job.
  9. Yes, it does...and, we never found out who's bottom dropped out.
  10. I know there are a few users on this board and maybe they might be interested in this YouTube Channel called 'Quanta'. It has a wealth of in depth ST1 tutorials that are well presented. https://www.youtube.com/user/quantaaudio/videos Play List: https://www.youtube.com/user/quantaaudio/playlists 👍
  11. Oh no...not another repeat post. Round and Round 'til fade it is then.
  12. Double post: Blimey, what's going on? I can't find the Coda.
  13. I've just copyrighted this below... Someone needs to look after Viola and Bassoon players. ..They're not just novelty acts for the likes of you to exploit...
  14. Of course it works...It sounds great. 👍
  15. If that doesn't work, try this: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/cinematic/ashlight/demo/
  16. You posted a thread up top about a video comp. It's also worth pointing out that people can download the demo/light version of 'Ashlight'. It's about two and a half gigs of excellent sounds with most functions still in place. It can be used in both versions of Kontakt as well. https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/cinematic/ashlight/?utm_source=metapop&utm_medium=community&utm_campaign=ashlight
  17. It might matter to some...I wonder if Billy Boy and his 34 incher would have joined a Rock Band called Mr. Small?
  18. More than that...It's NME news..!! Talking of Spenk. Adam's f***ing Spenk account is defiantly bigger. "Nadine Shah net worth is approximately $1.5 Million". "Adam Clayton net worth is approximately $400 Million".
  19. Thanks for the heads up. Although he's mad, I can't help but like him. He plays great and is certainly out there..!! I had never heard of him until last year, then I heard these two recordings. 👍
  20. Yeah, I did as well... Macca was quite interesting when he was explaining the writing process and sketches of some of those tunes. He came across as very musical in his ideas and arrangements. Plus, when speaking about the Beatles, he often spoke quite fondly about the other three. Well worth a watch.
  21. I'm not sure if it has been mentioned earlier: The six episode, 'McCartney 3,2,1' documentary, with himself and Rick Rubin is on the Disney Channel. Each episode is around thirty minutes long.
  22. Octave city...I remember playing that back in the day at various seven nights a week residencies. For me, it started out as a strenuous, physical work out in the art of octaves. Several weeks later, not only was I a smooth octave operator, I could even talk in octaves while I was asleep.
