  1. After being banged senseless by Sting for seven hours during his Tantric sex sessions, I'm surprised Trudie was capable of assuming anything.
  2. @xgsjx I don't know if you are familiar with the VI Control forum? A lot of very good people there with many working in film and TV. As far as composing/arranging and sound design goes, is one of the best forums out there. https://vi-control.net/portal/ Plenty of people there who really know there production stuff as well, so it's worth a visit to do some searching on the various courses that are about. Maybe start a thread asking for what you are after, the folks over there are usually very helpful. https://vi-control.net/community/forums/mixing-post-production-and-effects.64/
  3. Yes, he was playing well. Did you notice all that terrible bad dad dancing going on in the audience? As Del would say...there's some right proper plonkers on show there...
  4. Easy to miss him when you Google him. He's quite shy letting people know what he does.**
  5. A great watch.... 👍 If you like the Sound of Philadelphia, the Barry White story is on Sky Arts later today, at 4:30pm. I've seen it before and thought it was excellent.
  6. 'Soundtoys' have all their VST's on Black Friday discount. https://www.soundtoys.com/product/
  7. The Terrific Dane Alderson on Bass, with a nice, melodic solo.
  8. If you are using Pro or Artist, no internet needed on start up, or when running. That's what the USB Dongle is for. If you are using Elements, that is just a soft-eLicenser and runs off the serial number when first installed. Although, all change soon with anything Steinberg related. The USB Dongle is being ditched at the front end of next year in favour of a serial number. https://www.steinberg.net/licensing/
  9. That's session supremo, Paul Jackson Jr. Go on...have a peek... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Jackson_Jr.
  10. If you haven't already, another channel worth a look is the channel link below. He has a ton of Steinberg related videos along with some 3rd party vendor Synths etc... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1JLtclHvZbfZTfBoo-6uug/videos The Groove Agent series of videos that he has is outstanding as well. 24 Videos in total.
  11. Apart from the traditional regimental Bb Bugles for military calls (notated in C). There is also a Soprano Bugle in G with a horizontal valve so it can be played in D as well. Drum & Bugle Corps use it. Which kind of falls into place with the Bass harmonics in 'G' version played by the Bassist above. I believe there are two and three valve Bugles also used in the Corps This chap below, explains the various Bugles very well.
  12. It's just five notes around a Major Triad. From what I've heard the last couple of days, Bugle players have been playing it in Bb. I've also heard a Trumpet player playing it in Eb. The fellow below plays it in 'G' using harmonics.
  13. Steinberg UR22 mkII.. https://www.steinberg.net/audio-interfaces/ur22mkii/
  14. If anyone likes Dave Grusin. A really nice album from 1976. A great band as well: Ron Carter, Harvey Mason, Lee Ritenour and Larry Bunker on vibes and percussion.
  15. Joey DeFrancesco Trio live... And this splendid tune...
  16. I have just noticed this 'Piero Piccioni' YouTube channel with plenty of his material on. https://www.youtube.com/c/pieropiccioni/videos
  17. Might as well turn it into a Piero Piccioni appreciation thread. He is worthy...
  18. Yes, his writing and arranging skills were terrific. His Big Band stuff was good too.... Oddly enough, at around 3:15 of that video, it sounds like the same Bass player in style and sound. If you listen through headphones you can quite clearly hear it is an Electric played with a pick. Very much the sound and style of that era. The more you listen to Piero Piccioni, the more you become a fan of his music and start hunting down more of him. His music was very catchy. It is difficult trying to track down the musicians on his sessions. A few in this link but unfortunately, not the Bassist. https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/piero-piccioni/colpo-rovente/
  19. Yeah, thanks for posting... To me, that sounds like a Pick and flats, played near the neck. The extra edge might be because it's a Jazz Bass? On another note, Piero Piccioni composed some great film scores back in the 60's and 70's. His string arranging was beautiful and very romantic. Great voicings..!!
  20. Second Guitar in a band? Surely there are specialised forums with like minded people where you can indulge in activities like that? Personally, I think historic behaviour like that should be kept a secret.**
  21. Vince Mendoza and the LSO. The album is called 'Epiphany'. Stunning arranging.
  22. "I'm gonna take the classical guitar which I...learned yesterday"....
