  1. Yes, the whole band are using stands. I'm not sure it is a gimmick though, otherwise the snare drum and hi-hats would be all over the floor.
  2. JR Robinson's iconic intro must be worth a mention.
  3. A couple of free Percussion libraries in the Trailer style. Both for Kontakt (the free player and the full version). A license is provided. They are cut down versions but you do get quite a bit of material. Very bombastic and Epic sounding (IMO). 1) Ferrum - Percussion. Ferrum - Modern Trailer Percussion (keep-forest.com) 2) Evolution; Devastator Warzone. mOre geared towards sound design. Pulses, Risers, Basses Small Percussion Etc. Evolution: Devastator Warzone (keep-forest.com) 3) A few other freebies they have for download. Free (keep-forest.com)
  4. Alicia Keys Antônio Carlos Jobim Etta James And Bassist, Calum Thomas Hood (yeah, I've never heard of him either....) Australian singer-songwriter and musician, known for being a member of the Australian pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer. Since 2014, 5 Seconds of Summer have sold more than 10 million albums, sold over 2 million concert tickets worldwide, and the band's songs streams surpass 7 billion, making them one of the most successful Australian musical exports in history.
  5. Notion...for ease of use, quality. A silly low price as well, especially for what you get. The finger and stylus input works great. You also get a decent set of play back sounds. Notion desktop version (both Mac and Windows) reads the iPad Notion files as well. Notion iPad also exports Midi, Music XML and PDF files. The engraving fonts are decent and the articulation options are very good, but not on the level of Sibelius or Dorico.
  6. A couple of free FX's from 'Fuse Audio Labs'... 1) Spring Reverb: Fuse Audio Labs | Plugins 2) Baxandall EQ: Fuse Audio Labs | RS-W2395C
  7. Although, I'm not using anything by them at the moment, one of my boys has The M-Audio Keystation, 88 MK3 (semi Weighted full size keys) from what I've read in reviews, one of the best budget price controllers out there, certainly for playability. Between £150/£160, I think. I play a Piano a lot and it's feels great to play. As someone mentioned above, it might be worth upping your budget and considering a Native Instruments Kontrol A49 or A61. Apart from the playability, the NI Kontrol series comes bundled with a decent set of free VSTi's (instruments) and a few VST FX's.
  8. Sorry, I'm on a Wayne Brathwaite roll tonight. He's defiantly a player that slips under the Basschat Radar. R.I.P fellow.
  9. Yeah, I've always like this track and Melba Moore is great..!! The terrific Wayne Brathwaite is the Bassist. If anyone is interested, below is a link to the notated, transcribed line (including a Tab version). Martin Tanzer did the transcription. His transcriptions are free to download. But, you can donate if you like. Enjoy, it's spot on. 👍 Melba Moore - Mind Up Tonight | Bass Transcription | Wayne Brathwaite (basslessons.be)
  10. Me and my Bass....Just The Two Of Us..!!. Haha very good. I think he plays really well.
  11. It's Nearly nine minutes long, but worth a listen. One of the best Rock cover versions I've heard in a while. Just my opinion, of course.
  12. This is on the Lenny White album 'Present Tense'. It's a cover of the Bernard Wright tune. It's a great album with a whole host of top players on it. Bass on this is Marcus Miller I think.
  13. Yes, that's right. That is how I stumbled across them a couple of years ago.
  14. Yes...Also The Dakh Daughters are worth a listen. They have a completely mad stage act as well..!!
  15. My take as well. I found it quite a funny episode of p**s-taking nonsense. The Drummer in the background playing a minor comical roll was quite amusing as well.
  16. I always thought it was VW with a little displaced note shenanigans (I roughly transcribed the line below sometime back). But... since you mentioned it, I've just listened to the isolated track and can't make my mind up. Certainly isolated, it does seem a bit wobbly and maybe, you are right.
  17. I had my second Jab (Pfizer) last week and it knocked me sideways for a couple of days. Really most unpleasant. I hope you feel better soon.
  18. Yeah, I forgot it was the 'Pulse' downloader. I haven't got around to downloading the expansion pack yet, I will do that tomorrow. I've used the Pulse downloader before and it's pretty easy affair. One good thing about it is, it let's you know when and if any updates are available for any products that you already own. I've found it to be one of the better downloaders. EDIT: I haven't opened Pulse downloader for a while and noticed a couple of updates waiting for me to install AND, a freebie I had forgotten about, 'Heritage Percussion'....
