  1. R.I.P Always in the pocket.
  2. I've always found it funny that JR looks like he should be singing at the 'Grand Ole Opry', rather than playing Drums on hundreds and hundreds of top draw recordings. He's like a human metronome....
  3. Yeah, sorry, I was talking about the Steinberg site where there is a small saving with upgrades. I think total is £405 upgrade from A1 or Elements. If you want to dive straight into Pro 11, then from Amazon Prime there is a good deal. £308.00. You get a serial number and the Dongle. Then you register at Steinberg and download via the Download manager. I'm not sure how long the deal is though. Steinberg Cubase Pro 11: Amazon.co.uk: Musical Instruments If you have one another Vendor DAW (full version), you can get a cross grade offer for £300.00. I think you just have to provide proof of purchase.
  4. I run Nuendo 11 on a UR22 unit at the below settings without any problems. So you shouldn't have any problems with Cubase 11 pro. (your Laptop specs are no problem, good infact, for Cubase).. You could always try Elements 11 and if all is well, upgrade to Artist or Pro. It's sometimes a little cheaper going the upgrade route. Certainly no more expensive. Also, Steinberg should have a sale coming up soon. At times, it can be as much as 50% off.

    Which DAW?

This fellow has some useful ways of using the Chord track.

    Which DAW?

Yes, a bit long for one sitting, so I tend to watch the next day as well....Good stuff though.

    Which DAW?

Yes, a good idea. Although I'm a long term Cubase user (well Nuendo these days), there are always new things that I have picked up from Youtube videos and other websites, only to never find them again. These days the first port of call for me is the regular Official 'Club Cubase Live Stream'. A wealth of info.
  8. There's some great music and playing on that Album. I wonder if he sued himself for ripping off his own Bass line..!
  9. That's also Larry Kimpel on Bass on the the Live 'Brazilian Love affair' video I posted a few posts back.
  10. Al Jarreau Live in London 1984. Probably one of the best concerts I've been to. The Dave Sanborn band as the support were pretty amazing as well. Inc Steve Gadd & Marcus Miller...
  11. The Amazonic - Freebie for Kontakt full. A selection of Percussion patches with rhythms, hits, rolls and loops from The Amazon. Although, just a limited teaser for the main library, they actually sound very, very good. Use Coupon AMA1FREEEDITION during checkout. THE AMAZONIC - AMA 1 Free Edition | Audio Libraries & Virtual Instruments
  12. Al Jarreau (Vocals) Buzzy Feiten (Guitar) Freddy Washington (Bass) Lenny Castro (Percussion) Steve Gadd (Drums) Joe Sample (Piano) Philippe Saisse (Keyboards)
  13. Oi... We need to have a Chaat about' this, me ol' Chana.
  14. Blimey, an Indian restaurant wallpaper scratch plate. I haven't seen one of them before.
  15. If you have been using GarageBand, at least you will have some kind of familiarity with Logic. Plus, Logic will read any GarageBand Projects if needed. Logic Pro - GarageBand to Logic - Apple (UK)
  16. Here are four of my (Jeff) ex's to get on with while waiting for Bill's photos... (made in the late 80's and early 90's...) Mine are long gone but, I believe Bill's are still in use...
