  2. Dad, if you don't already have it, the free, Bamboo Xaxophone from 'Fluffyaudio', is a nice little Asian sounding woodwind. There are a couple of other free offerings from them worth having a listen to as well. Bamboo Xaxophone | FluffyAudio
  3. I just see it for what it is... Just a bit of fun and some 'choppy' messing around. He certainly put some work into it and had a good listen to Purdie's playing. I thought some of the verbal interaction was quite funny.
  4. The work of the great Hoyt Curtin...He was one of Hanna-Barbera's musical directors/composers/arrangers on a lot of their Cartoon/animations (along with Ted Nichols). Here is a funny short read on one of his sessions with a 'Jug' player. Hoyt Curtin's Jug band Session (animationmagazine.net)
  5. Another Dave Grusin TV theme...'Baretta'.
  6. The 60's American themes tunes really did swing..!!
  7. Nice little bit of Trivia. Last Wednesday, John Taylor celebrated his 100th Birthday. John worked on sound and sound design on a lot of those Gerry Anderson Puppet Show Series, He also owned, along with his wife (who also worked on those TV shows), 'Grosvenor Studios' in the Midlands. An interesting little read in the link below.. SuperM - John and Jean Taylor (lester.demon.nl)
  8. Good grief, I've killed him off. He certainly is still alive..!! My apologies to JM. I'm really not sure what I was thinking...I meant to put Jim's name before Noel's name. .
  9. That was Noel McCalla...This live video below, he starts singing at around 03:45. Sadly, only Noel and drummer, Neil Wilkinson, are still alive.
  10. My favourite film main theme (for today anyway )
  11. I saw them over at The Half Moon a couple of times and up Ronnie's as well. Some great players passed through that band.
  12. A couple of my favourite TV Themes (for today anyway )
  13. Christian Henson of Spitfire Audio has a site hosting quite a collection of free, peer-to-peer community contribution Libraries. Mostly for the full version of Kontakt, plus some for the Logic Sampler. There are a few Gems in there. About – Pianobook
  14. Another freebie for folks with the full version of Kontakt. A company called 'Klang' have a free Instrument every month. They are are mainly hybrid and sound design patches and sound great..!! KLANG - FREE
  15. A free Etherial (Celtic type) Harp VSTi. Kontakt not required for this one. No email address wanted or any of the sign up nonsense. Just a good old, straight forward download. Etherealwinds Harp (versilstudios.com)
  16. I just noticed this post in the comments.
  17. To me, on that OP video, it sounds like LJ is struggling a bit. Certainly not the 'live' powerhouse I remember hearing. I must say, one of my favourite slap players. I still listen to my Brothers Johnson albums quite a lot...And so do my two teenage boys. This live clip shows his classic sound and powerhouse thumping.
  18. Yes, my (big) mistake. The Beatles version is a cover as well. Herb Albert covered the tune a couple of years after them. For some strange (getting old) reason, I thought I had posted a link to 'All My Loving'...(which looks like Lanni Hall on the album cover). That's why I was pointing out that Lanni Hall, one of the singers on 'The Fool on the Hill' cover version, was Herb Albert's wife. Start Again.
  19. It's very odd that we have not seen @eddie_duff since the opening post? Maybe he is looking up and down the UK for a Peavey BW115 ? 😂
  20. You are wasting your time now, Stew. A good try though. The Peavey BW115 cab club are crawling all over the thread like an out of control, drug crazed Bebop solo....Never ending.
  21. Yet another ex Peavey (very tatty) 115BW user here. I have had a few 1x15's over the years. The Peavey was defiantly up there and could really pump it out. Of course, I sold it for an expensive Gas. *Boutique must be better' upgrade type of cabinet..
  22. This video has more 'Round Robin(s)' than a £500 Sample Drum Library.
