  1. I like it..!! Excellent playing all round from a very tight band. Top marks for the very mature Brass arranging as well. 👍
  2. Ferrum - FREE Trailer Percussion for both Kontakt versions. If you are only using the free Kontakt player, you will get a license for use. It also has very good step sequencer for building up your own rhythms as well a bunch of rhythm presets. https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2020/08/05/keepforest-ferrum-free/
  3. He's getting there. The Etudes are hard work on Upright, but he is starting to feel the benefits now. Although, they are a good work out for Electric as well...As your video shows..!!
  4. Well played, Rob. I agree about the book. My oldest has been using it for Double Bass practise these past few months and he is really enjoying working through the Etudes. Funny enough, I have just been listening to John Patitucci this afternoon. His upright playing on Dave Grusin's album, West Side Story, Is terrific.. Well worth a listen.
  5. Strangely enough, not much about Glenn Miller though. Then again, Trombone players aren't big news anymore.
  6. He's still alive. Reps squashed the story on his behalf sometime yesterday (unless that's a hoax). Hoax deaths are some kind of Internet game played by Keyboard warriors when their mums have gone to Bingo.
  7. Agreed...For example, Adam Sandler used more vibrato on the Werewolf "Ah-hooo" line.
  8. Quite insane really for a fiver...I feel quite guilty taking up the deal. iZotope Trash 2 and UJAM Carbon, both free with any purchase. Check out the deal with the link below: https://www.pluginboutique.com/articles/1652?a_aid=4de37c52da03a
  9. I grabbed this today. Firstly, I downloaded the demo and gave it a whirl and found the presets to be very subtle. They are a good starting point and some of them are good to use as they are. A winner for me. I also tried the demo for their Ducking Delay & Reverb Processor. Another good one that has some useful Sound Design presets straight out of the box. Thanks for the heads up. 👍
  10. I thought this might be useful...Ian Sheppard has a Mixing & Mastering Podcast show with some pretty useful information. (It's pretty varied as well). https://themasteringshow.com
  11. Excellent...Very dynamic with good themes going on as well. 👍
  12. Waves MaxxVolume is free at the moment. https://www.waves.com/account/maxxvolume-free
  13. Weighted/semi-weighted, synth action etc...? Full size keys, mini keys (Yamaha YC), how many octaves? Midi In/out or USB? Mod wheels, pads, cc# sliders? Sustain and volume pedal options? Budget? Like the poster above said, your choice ultimately, but it's worth thinking about the options (or some of them) I mentioned as well and not just (onboard) sounds (if any). There are plenty of great sound libraries out there that you can add as required. The Native Instruments keyboards are worth a look as well as the mentioned M-Audio Keystation.
  14. I'm a Nuendo (10.3) user and find the stock fx plug-ins great and I'm using them more and more, especially the mixer channel strip. The N10 fx's are pretty much the same plugs and VST instruments as Cubase 10.5 . Although, the extras in Nuendo are geared more towards game/sound design and post production. The last few months I've spent time learning the stock Steinberg fx and really enjoy using them now. Also, I recently put together a new DAW computer and found there was no need to re-install most of the huge amount of unused plug-ins I have collected (free & purchased). Same with my sample libraries, There are quite a few extras in Cubase 10.5 that are worthy of the extra £20. Pad Shop 2 being one of them. It's definitely worth the upgrade price. 10.5 https://new.steinberg.net/cubase/new-features/ The few, non-native VST's I use are: VST fx. EastWest Spaces 2 (convolution reverb) PhoenixVerb iZotope Ozone and Neutron VST Instruments. Spectrasonics Omnisphere (synth/sound design) Kontakt 6 (sampler/rompler for my Sound Libraries) VSL Ensemble Pro 7 (for VST hosting outside of the DAW) VSL Syncron Player (and libraries) Spitfire Audio player (and Libraries)
  15. Your fourth chord was lost and out of use for a while...then found...and then used again ? So, it was just suspended for a while, yes?
  16. My oldest boy is in the process of transcribing some 'Heart' Tunes for a project. He said to me "Blimey. dad - She's a terrific Rock singer..!!". I can't argue with him, yes she is...
  17. Sad news. I live a few roads away from him and he could often be seen walking about locally just down by the sea front. According to others, although he was a person of few words, he seemed to be happy and enjoying a quite life. Also, I believe some of his family and children live in the area as well, so he wasn't living a secluded life. R.I.P
  18. If there is someone looking for a free DAW, AKAI have just released one. MusicTech Review. https://www.musictech.net/news/akai-mpc-beats-free-daw-for-beatmakers/?utm_source=MusicTech&utm_campaign=3a34200acb-mt_nl_w30y20_weekly_digest&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_174209224c-3a34200acb-52053351 Grab it here: https://www.akaipro.com/mpc-beats A bunch of video tutorials here. https://www.akaipro.com/mpc-beats
  19. I think he started having a few bun fights with a couple of other Basschat members (3/4 years ago), or maybe it was a couple of bun fights with a few Basschat members? Either way, it didn't end well and he vanished. It's a shame he didn't know what a Coda was as he still might be here.
  20. Lisa Gerrard...Another one of my favourites.
  21. Chaka Khan. Will Lee & Steve Ferrone right in the pocket. Chaka Khan. Anthony Jackson & Steve Ferrone right in the pocket.
  22. For me personally, one part of it is through years of experience. Playing and remembering hundreds and hundreds of tunes during that time (lots of similar chord structures/changes/form etc). But probably the biggest factor for me is: I have very good relevant pitch. I can hear/recognise chords and intervals easily/quickly. You will probably find that there are many on here who are the same,
  23. These two tracks still get a regular airing around the Med Resorts.
