  1. Yeah, good stuff... I thought the Clive Chin story about Peter Tosh, in the New York Court, was funny.
  2. One of my favourite musicians, Dave Grusin, was a master of the Rhodes. There are dozens of tunes with Dave playing Rhodes but, it's a good time to dig out Friends & Strangers... Even a (young) Marcus Fretless solo for good measure!!
  3. Yeah, always hits the spot for me.
  4. Thank you for the write up. A good read. πŸ‘
  5. I suppose with over 2.5 million YouTube subscribers and solid teaching commitments, he might be a tad too busy to come on here and engage with BB5 regarding his "Pet hate"...
  6. Five out of loads... Hold The Line - Toto Don't Leave Me This Way - Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes Are You Ready for Love - Elton John Wake Up Everybody - Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes Bette Davies Eyes - Kim Karnes
  7. Spitfire Audio now use their own sample VSTi player for their newer libraries. This is free and quite often they give away free patches for the player. There's now a decent amount of patches available for the Labs player. Most defiantly worth checking out and quite a diverse offering as well. https://www.spitfireaudio.com/labs/
  8. I'm with you on that and always switch stations when his ridiculous, horrible vibrato assaults my ears. πŸ€•
  9. Voted - Well done all.
  10. A truly fantastic Piano performance from George Duke...
  11. 1974 - I was Seventeen when the 'Back To Oakland' (TOP) album came out, I went straight out and bought a copy. Still one of my favourite albums to this day. Rocco's Bass playing just blew me away at the time (as did the terrific arrangements).
  12. Yeah, he is a terrific musician. He really has a great feel for music and certainly has done the rounds over the years. That OP video has a really clean mix. I think that backing singer, Tambourine playing lady is, Lindsay Dracass. Back in the early 2000's, at age 16, she was the UK entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.....(and she didn't come last ).
  13. Congratulations. πŸ‘ By the way, I can guarantee that you will only be a 'Dingo' for the next few weeks...
  14. Indeed, as well as experimenting, by taking it up the Octave.
  15. Good idea, Skank. It might also be worth pointing out to him what position the wife prefered.
  16. I think the producer and co-writer, Terence Britten, played Bass Guitar on that track (not a synth). Like Chris_b said, it's pretty much what you have transcribed and It's a pretty laid back feel.
  17. I have worked on production shows where we have stayed and slept in welded together containers, on top of three different mountain tops, down on the Falkland Islands, several times (Four to a room). It's enough to make you run away and join a factory. **
  18. Very nice and very well played. πŸ‘
  19. America from 'West Side Story'... Can easily be arranged for a rock band. 'The Nice' did a version years ago (although that was keyboard heavy). You have two vocalists, I'm sure they can manage it. Doesn't matter what style/genre the tunes are arranged for, anything from West Side Story is always a winner.
  20. Another good source of material study is on YouTube. There are lots of scrolling transcriptions (with added chords). You can study the various players approach work to soloing over the different chord sequences (all instruments). A Ray Brown solo here.
  21. Yeah, the Parker Omnibook is great. If your treble clef reading is a struggle, there is a Bass clef version. A decent price as well. https://www.thedukesmusic.co.uk/charlie-parker-omnibook-bass-clef-instruments-edition.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgaf7kPaz5AIVwbTtCh2MzwreEAQYASABEgLM-vD_BwE
  22. There are a few... I use Lemur iOS (have done for quite a while) with Neundo and it works great. You can set up your own templates for pretty much anything. The guy I assist uses it with Logic with no problems. https://liine.net/en/products/lemur/specifications Plenty of YouTube videos
