  1. Chevy Chase looking like a big Paul Simon, the little Paul Simon looking a bit like Keith Moon...and a P Bass with a Badass Bridge? Loads Of funny things going on and Chevy clearly having a great laugh. I like the tune and the stonking groove, so it all kinda goes hand in hand for me.
  2. AWB Vibe over Steely Dan...
  3. I think it is just a good old Eb major (three flats), with the C minor being the relative minor. I am not sure there is a Db anywhere in the tune/chords. If the key was Ab major there would be Db’s in the key sig. Chord three is used a lot (G minor - natural D’s). The verse starts on chord IV (Ab major 7th). Just my opinion of course.
  4. Intro to the original Doctor Who theme; a lovely bit of Phrygian.
  5. Not sure if it is humble, but the Theremin ? Maybe there should be a weird thread for some of these Instruments?
  6. The good ol' 'Finger Snap'...Who needs snare drums ?
  7. Yeah, I have the album. Most of the tracks have some creative/unusual arrangements. Quite a lot of vocal tech fx going on as well.
  8. I think mine was about that, or maybe a little bit more.
  9. Loved the place (and the pub around the corner - The White Swan?). Early days all Basses and Amps were downstairs. Mid 80's (when it opened) through to the early 90's I purchased a lot from them. '88, I got my first Wal from them (five string). A Sadowsky five string, and a couple of Fenders. The usual Trace Elliot stuff as well, along with their own brand of strings ? They used to have some great clinics/demo nights there as well with some top players. I used to live just over the other side of the river, near Tower Bridge, so walked over there quite often. It was a good social gathering as well, always lots of players to talk music with. 10. Yeah, this video is great. Very relaxed playing That triplet phrase from Christian during his solo at 5:13, Marcus used to use it occasionally in his solos. It must be some ‘In’ gag....
  11. "That dude sure knows how to rock the triangle". Need to click on the link - The YouTube Video won't embed for some reason. https://youtu.be/jBupII3LH_Q
  12. There is the Harry Berly solo in Whispering (and very good it is). It was popular music at the time.
  13. I wouldn't say it make the song but... The Melodica solo in 'Dance With Me' by Orleans works well
  14. Ok, I see Dad has pointed out the velocity thing. Good luck with it all. 👍
  15. Ample Bass P Lite II, is a VSTi. It’s a Sampled Bass (unless you mean something else). Are you using that and not live Bass? Because if you are, it’s ok but nothing special, you will get a better sound using a real Bass Guitar.
  16. I was a full time pit player for about 25 years or so. I must say WSS, along with Jesus Christ Superstar were my favourites to play. Both very different of course.
  17. Nate swings his hips well (as well). If they are still original, I'm well impressed.
  18. That the Bassist in question could swing the semi quavers like Nate does ? (And I think Nate's Bass is nicer as well).
  19. Oddly enough, I had another listen and yes, it hurt my ears, but I think you have made a few decent points there. I must be getting old as well.
  20. The Soundtrack to 'Havana' by Dave Grusin.
  21. My first ever CTI album, and a good one too.
  22. Ronnie Jordan's Acid Jazz cover was a bit of a Dance-floor favourite in the early 90's. (apparently). https://www.independent.co.uk/news/obituaries/ronny-jordan-guitarist-whose-version-of-the-miles-davis-classic-tune-so-what-became-an-acid-jazz-9084262.html
  23. Yeah, I thought those three might have been in a Drummers list. Although oddly enough, JR Robinson seems to pass many by.
