  1. Rhonda Smith sings well. From the album ‘RS2’. She sings on most tracks. Vocals come in around 1:25.
  2. Like him or dislike him. Mark King has good phrasing and timing while doing both.
  3. If you want an over the top, fabulous tune, with a snazzy arrangement, performed in a glitzy showbiz fashion, just call......... Will Lee...
  4. Blimey, who are you, his Milkman ?
  5. And if you believe interviews, so did John Lennon....
  6. Yeah, awful and very sad...One of the great “Young” film composers. Only a few days ago I was watching ‘Sicario’, a great score.
  7. I suppose that was what Quincy Jones was saying about the Beatles musical qualities....
  8. Is he though ? I have not seen him advertised doing gigs at Butlins Soul Weekends. He seems to always be popping up on US television shows, gala appearances, well just about anything. So still a regarded personality, plus the internet/social media is littered with this story. Over at 'Discogs', he has fifteen pages of credits with albums and film scores/cues still being released and re released. Also, It was only eighteen months ago that there was a BBC Proms concert of his material and achievements at a sold out Albert Hall. Depending on what review you read, his net worth over the last two/three years is quite substantial. (although it seems to vary from between $300 and $450 million). Oh Well, Quincy. To you Just another day in the business of show...
  9. The opening bars are the Bass line notes., although slower in 'Billie Jean' Then there are these elements (below) from a post elsewhere. But certainly, I wouldn't call it a Rip-Off, maybe influenced ? "The plucky synth riff (panned to the left) is exactly the same as the Billie Jean riff, expect the first note in Billie Jean is up the octave. The riff in Billie Jean is slower too. There's enough difference in the songs that it's definitely not worthy of calling the whole song a rip though".
  10. I must say, I agree, very funny interview (The full Vulture version). The Ringo story is a corker.
  11. Good catch. That's you done for the day, you can go home now...What size hook did you use?
  12. If you are getting a decent sound out of the Tannoys, why not use them?
  13. When he said "something funky in A minor," you should of asked "why not medium rock and in C major like everyone else?" (Sorry, a terrible old Beatles gag).
  14. Maybe overkill for the OP, but worth thinking about. £75 if you shop around.
  15. Interesting picture...I think I might enter and focus on the Top Hat.
  16. That looks like a Slide Cornet, or slide Trumpet....
  17. I think he has so many children, people have lost count. No wonder he left a lot of space in his playing, he had no energy!! (Although below says different). Jas Obrecht says during an interview with him in 2013 "But that’s just the best-known part of Barrett’s story. He also found the energy to father 42 children". But it gets better......................... "It would have been enough to give each of his 52 children a little more than £1m for their father's unacknowledged contribution to the immortal sound of Bob Marley and the Wailers." https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2006/may/16/topstories3.arts
  18. Indeed. The amount of Coffee tables I have owned over the years, around the grand mark I would consider ' budget'...
