1.
Well done Garry! Great track. Yes, please message me with your choice of photo and I'll set up November's challenge ASAP.
Cheers, Paul. I just this minute sent it over to Dad in France. Link now on it’s way to you.
 2. Thanks for the kind words folks. I thought there was some great ideas this month, considering the nature of the picture. I am out at the moment, so will send a picture over later. Would that be to Skol?...I will see if I can find an action photo, so Mornats can unleash his track of Doom!!
 3. Voted - Some good ideas there.(Quite difficult to split them). Well done everyone.
 4.
I'm in love!
Ahhh..I find this rather cute, dyerseve....
 5. An enjoyable listen...Good stuff.
 6.
You're not alone. Check the Daily Annoyances
7. That Guitarist has a ladder in the knee of the left leg of her tights/stockings. Edit: Sorry, nearly forgot and got carried away. The Guitarist plays very well and tone wise, reminds me of early Stanley Jordan stuff. The composition has some decent moments, but a little bit too repetitive for me.
 8.
Voted. Great work everyone!
Not got around to listening to them all yet, but have managed to listen to your track. The solo Violin you used sounds lovely, what library is it from ? It sits in the track well and has a nice authentic sound to it, the notes seem to have natural movement. Is it baked in? or with cc# mod wheel use ?
 9. ^^^ Of course, unless the rest of the band are sick and tired of the same ol' samo. Maybe they welcome the new musical input ? I should think it's best to all talk together, including the keyboard player, not just with the original members (C).
 10. " I can't Help It".... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhY__diJD3I
 11. Yep, worth demoing Ozone 8. There are three versions to choose from price wise. Another 'all in one' mastering plugin is 'Eventide Elevate'. This is getting quite a lot of love at the moment with some pretty good reviews. ($99).Demo available as well. https://www.eventideaudio.com/products/plugins/mastering/elevate-bundle
 12.
play it using 8-bit synth sounds and stick a breakbeat behind it and you have Plustech Squeeze Box!
I have an idea. You play it..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8qHOeu5Ops
 13. True - But equally, because one doesn't like the music being made, that doesn't mean the programme has seriously lost the plot. Or come to think of it, neither does a white dress or being a woman.
 14.
some woman in white playing a piano - WTF - this programme has seriously lost the plot.
WTF, some woman in white, is in fact, Hiromi. A very serious, skilful musician.
 15.
I'm still trying to master the Tibetan Anus Flute. It's a bit niche though, and I'm still having trouble finding an appreciative audience...
If you need any help, thid video might help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXp4JUFOz8E
 16. That metronome might as well go down the job centre and sign on, for all the good it’s doing. Maybe I am being unfair and they can’t hear it.
 17. Back then, arranging was very much the name of the game in Disco, especially the Philly type style. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sxuRJeaRmI&list=RD_sxuRJeaRmI&t=19
 18. Always liked Gb, the note and the key.
 19.
Crikey that's not far off my double bass! Maybe you're not Lowdown at all
You should see my Double Bass action.. Oddly enough, there are people who pick my electrics up and think the action (s) are not high compared to their Basses. I always thought there were more variables involved than just action (if a Bass feels & plays right to the individual). String gauge, tension, rounds/flats etc... Interesting thread. Beats 'what sticks do you use?'
 20. I don’t normally measure my action, but just have. My fretted is just under 6mm at the 17th fret and my Fretless at the same position is about 5mm (The E string-B string about the same).
 21. Sorry, no Boom Boom here. https://soundcloud.com/garrycribb/the-seductive-elf
 22.
My understanding is that on receiving payment the Jewish musician would silently intone ' God is good', spelling gig. And although it's mainly used for musical work the term applies to a freelancer in any field.
Yes, I have heard that version. There is also reference to it in this link below (in the comments). There are also a couple of other interesting theories, that kinda of follow on. http://www.word-detective.com/2009/02/gig/
 23.
Playing in the band for a pantomime matinee and then again in the evening. Is that two shows?
Yes, correct, two shows.
 24.
I've often thought this version of "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell (used in the film 'Love Actually") could literally have worked great with just her and the bass - does anyone know of any other examples of truly understated (or under-played, but perfect for the song) performances like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coNo-CrAb4g
Of course JM sings well on the OP video, but, for me what makes this version so special, is the absolutely terrific arranging and conducting by ‘Vince Mendoza’. Really top class stuff from him.
 25.
Since photobucket went tits up I thought I'd post up another pic thanks to imgbb!
That's a serious music stand...It has a light on it.
