  1. Thats kinda the point. Nobody notices!
  2. I dont think that you do tune the same. You need to tune to the BFTS to make it work as intended. (You can buy calibrated BTFS tuners) But as previously stated, its utterly pointless unless your playing chords.
  3. My understanding is that it improves perception of intervals. It does this by sacrificing some intervals which the ear is less sensitive to (4ths, 5ths)... for those which have less variance before they sound out of tune (min 3rds etc) It works on a 6 string guitar playing chords, But its a compromise as it really only works in certain positions. IMHO its totally unnecessary on a bass guitar. I'd happily be convinced otherwise if anybody has any real world experience with it on bass.
  4. I Saw cory Wong in London in Feb. Brilliant show! The sound was awfull tho in electric ballroom
  5. In my seemingly never ending search for filter funk nirvana, I seem to have completely overlooked the aguilar offering. And seeing that they make my favourite ovtaver, I cat really understand why. I mean.... this! Whaaaaaa!!!!!! https://youtu.be/34E7tR_vmhM

yes i beleive the octavius squeeser is as you say. There are other companies doing it aswell, chase bliss? there are probably others.... I now have a fully working prototype and controlling my strymon deco with it (yes i can see the irony). Im able to store 4 presets on 3 pots. So effectively its the proof of concept ive been working towards. Im currently in talks with a patent lawyer, and developing the next version that will be controllable via midi PC and CC, and able to store over 100 presets over 8 channels of controll (8 pots)

yes. No. A waveform is the same wether it comes from an analogue or digital source. of corse every piece of gear has its own sound, and this may stem from its ability to produce these waveforms "perfectly". Remember a square waveform is the sum of all the odd harmonics of a sine wave. differing amplitude/amount of any of these harmonics will result in an imperfect square wave. the same is true for a triangle/sawtooth wave but with different harmonics. there is no analogue sound processing in either pedal. most synth pedals are digital. and therefore run code/software. In a digital world, everything is done precisely. repeatability is unavoidable unless programmed in. that is to say, that the same input will generate the same output every time. Anologue circuitry generates the waveform as the circuit parameters allow. its kind of a living breathing thing, so the output will depend on a number of factors such as temperature, (humidity?), power stability, current supply, condition etc. older analogue synths typically have tuning stability issues for these reasons, and often have to be "warmed up" before use to make sure they play in tune. All of these characteristics are seen as desireable for many die-hard analogue purists. I personally find analogue gear does "generally" sound better and is more responsive to my inputs. But there are also drawbacks with analogue gear, as mentioned above, as well as as lack of presets which we are all becoming acustomed to with digital systems.
  8. this is true. 16.5mm this would normally put me off aswell, but upon playing one, the left hand technique is so different, that i dont even think about it.
  9. i went down this route recently, and ended up with a used ibanez portamento. it really is the business!
  10. Jiant leap forward this weekend with the bringing together of all the different aspects of the project. The code is now working to save and recall presets on 3 different channels. The brain assy is working exactly as it should and I currently have it hooked up to my strymon deco controlling the saturation and volume. Its a fully working proof of concept. And to say I'm chuffed to bits would be a massive understatement.
  11. Firstly make sure you have a wired connection. WiFi introduces too much latency. Jamkazam was a pain to setup but the latency was lower than everything else I tried. Sofasession was very simple to setup and works well too.
  12. +1 for any fea comps. But admittedly maybe alot of knobs for a beginner
  13. Ok, heres my contrubution https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5OsluIwyJYZKLYpS8Hf9U6?si=ZPimVMKNRJiztGnVmRXADg Enjoy!
  14. I knew this was coming for a few years now.... looks like ita about to drop. They have really done a great job here IMHO. i particularly like the fact that it can convert any audio input signal into a bassline.
  15. As a bit of light relief from all things covid, I thaught we could all get to know each other a little... (musically speaking) This is a chance to create a playlist/album of songs that best represent you as a musician. This might be where you are right now, or where you have come from. A window into your musical soul 10 tracks or 45 mins MAX. (preferably Spotify/youtube playlist so we can all get to know eachother without to many clicks)
  16. I'm working on a way of allowing presets on analogue pedals.....Its close. Very close!
  17. I've had a thing for late eighteen usa strats for a loooooong time. Finally found one recently i could afford.... 88 strat plus deluxe.
  18. +1 for mxr bef if your into finger style funk lines. Listen to anything by dumpstaphunk for the sounds. Both (yes they have 2) their bass players use it. I've had over 20 filters, but the mxr is the king of them all imho of corse.
  19. welcome to the club! best clear your diary for a few weeks after you get it
  20. If your into groundation, another one of Harrison Staffords bands....
  21. Hello! Its "soundblox" with an L. Might want to edit the title for anybody doing a search. These are most excellent pedals. GLWTS
