as promised here's a very quick demo... DecoTest.mp3 1. clean bass, Fender Jazz elite 5 with nickel rounds. both pickups, active mode 2. saturation at 50% 3. saturation at 75% 4. saturation at 100% 5. clean Slap 6. slap with saturation at 50% I think it illustrates what the saturation does at differing amounts. Below 50% I love the way it warms up the signal in a really old school way. kind of like chucking a set of used flats on. i'm working on a new track where i intend to use the Deco on the bass so ill post it here and you can see how it sounds in a mix.

  7. Got these from bass direct, fitted to my elite fender jazz for about 2 hours playing, then removed. Just not for me on that bass. (45/65/85/105/128) Since the Fifties and Sixties, La Bella's DEEP TALKIN'BASS Flat Wound Stainless Steel strings have been the first choice by many professional bass players. These long-lasting flat wounds are recommended for fretless basses." They are through body and I can't fit them to any of my other basses so I'll let somone else enjoy them. Cost £52+pp £35 posted

So it's here!!! And I really like it It's not like any drive pedal I've ever played. Its character is warm and smooth. It compresses the signal fairly heavily above noon on the saturation dial, but in a nice thick gooey way. I'll try and get some sound clips loaded up to explain. But I'm initial reaction to it is that it's great!!
  9. I have 2 pairs of tickets. 4th and 5th. Cant decide which to go to... Anybody need tickets for either date let me know....
  10. Ah great! How do I rent an Enzo then?
  11. Octaver first, then the gated fuzz. filter last. this is the most conventional way to produce the sounds your after. some octavers will allow you to run fuzz first, but most wont as they need a pure tone to track well. You might get better response if you post over in the effects forum. There is a recent synth bass FX thread where we discuss this sorta stuff...
  12. Thats great, congrats! Welcome to the world of loop switching!!!
  13. The joyo is a great place to start. I used one for about a year before upgrading to the es8 The joyo is a bit of a monster to edit on the fly. You really need to invest some time to learn its menus. But it's fully capable once you understand the thing. The es8 is a whole new level above. The key features that are a benifit to me are reordering pedals, and ease of on the fly edits and computer editing and backup. But there's so much more it can do besides that. I'm not actually using my es8 anymore since I got a helix. I really should get round to selling it!
  14. That is an ending I like May I say Dood, although we never had many (if any) dealings on this forum, I've always respected and valued your considered and knowledgable input on many topics. So I probably speak for most if not all of basschat that you absolutely deserve this positive ending. I'm positively thrilled for you!!!
  15. Well It's Tomorrow!!! .. And it's nearly over How does it end!!!!!
  16. the suspense is killing me!!! this is WAY better than Emerdale!
  17. I love that they release a bass oriented track first!! They must be the only band i know of, who "Really" appreciate their bass player.
