i far prefer Mastotron into Octamizer. its mainly the octamizer that makes this work as It pretty much take whatever you put into it and halves it's pitch. Then the filters do their thing. wheras a standard octaver (synth voice, cog, oc2 etc) generates a synth tone an 8ve down. this is why they need a clean input to detect pitch. The mastotron dosent seem to like an octave in front either and it dodent really need one. it takes a basic signal and adds more very VERY harmonically rich content (almost square) AND subs. so its win win. I put a short sample together to demonstrate. 1. clean bass 2. mastotron 3. octamizer 4. octamizer into Mastotron 4. mastotron into octamizer Gfuzznoctave.mp3

another amazing and beautiful track mate. keep it up! This one has a kind of Micheal League vibe to it. i know he loves his OC2 also! your previous post has inspired me to get a Mooer lofi machine. that OC2 tone is PHAT!

Many thanks indeed! i love your playing also The attack is a function of the gate on the mastotron and one of the dual peak envelope followers on the manta. It hits a resonant peak just as it opens which sounds really percussive which i love! Yeah i always prefer compression at the beginning to fatten and even the tone at the start of the signal chain. its very gentle stock toneprint setting on the spectracomp at about 9o clock.its always on.

Ian purchased my compressor pedal. easy no hassle transaction. His money was as good if not better than any ive seen before. top bloke!

Thanks Bas, Yeah all original!

i sold monkeytrick some patch cables a few weeks ago. transaction was smooth and delicious like a chocolate covered ice rink. thanks!

Great track! reminds me of some 00s garage tunes. No offence intended! that oc2 sounds super fat. like its got more upper harmonics. my guess would be that your running a mild overdrive into it, OR maybe running it into an octave up like a POG? or both!

love this idea! with this thread in mind i stuck a phone in front of me at last nights rehearsal and recorded one of our new songs that we intend to use as the opener to an open air gig on Hove seafront next month. No vocals, and its fairly bass heavy, but whose complaining! The synth part in the intro is uses at various places throughout the song and the signal chain consists of..... Sandberg VM5 passive neck pickup ---> Spectracomp ---> Mastotron gated fuzz ----> Manta filter (11?) ---> TCE corona chorus ---> Genz bens shuttle 9.2----> Barefaced big twin The clean parts are just Spectracomp. Enjoy! learning lessons.mp3

id strongly recomend getting a cheap one before dropping that kind of cash. there's a few really lovely sire V7 fretless guitars in the classifieds on here, take a punt on one of those instead
