Sounds like he's either got very old strings or the tone rolled off significantly. He is also digging in quite hard. Other than a bit of break-up I'm not hearing much in the way of effects there...
so your saying you think the breakup could just be the amp?

Hey guys. ive been searching for a pedal that can nail joe darts tone in this video. check the 3.20 mark for where i can hear it best. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dpvyZBKg6Q&list=PL83B4E5CCE0F084B7&index=7 id describe it as a low gain overdrive, but the numerous pedals ive tried cant even come close to what im hearing. its so fat and juicy with just a bit of breakup. any ideas?
My stupid Kindle won't play that file . Do you have it on a Soundcloud page?
download the file and change the extension to mp3.should work then unfortunatley i do not but my band thrill syndicate does!! https://soundcloud.com/thrillsyndicate
Where's the thumbsup icon in here? Vulfpeck are pushing my buttons at the moment too - obv Mr Dart's input being the main thing but the rest of it and stage presence etc. - they got it.
thanks and agreed. they blow my mind. They are also so accessible form a fan viewpoint. They post demos of their own songs. they reply to fans on youtube etc. not many other bands would find the time to do that.
pretty cool! I feel like the drums could be a bit looser, and should maybe go to a ride for the run out, and the rhythm on the main keys part could be a bit more interesting. It's definitely in the style of Vulfpeck! Nice one
Thanks for the feedback. And I'm glad you liked it It's all programmed midi parts except from the guitars and bass so it sounds a bit too regimented... like on the beat straight.... What's the word for that? No feel???

Hi Basschatters, i recently set myself a task of writing a song in the style of on of my favourite bands at the moment "Vulfpeck" I thought id post it up her and see what you guys think from a songwriting perspective.... Bear in mind its not been properly mixed as of yet. Any constructive comments welcome Thanks
Ahh I used to have the old big box 24v Qtron! I loved the sound, but it was too big and bringing an extra plug was a pain (it did seem to suck tone bypassed too) I've since used EBS,Digitech,Boss, EHX Bassballs and Tonefactor filters and never got that sound. I've a 3 leaf Wonderlove coming any day and I'm hoping it'll knock the Qtron+ off my top spot 😆
Did the Wonderlove do it for you???
looks amazing! I think I would have sent the first one back. The scratch alone is enough reason to do that. The second one looks really good. What are/were they like to play? any differences at all in feel or sound?
It's a dream to play. The kneck is so comfortable with the variable radius and neck shape.I had to spend a few evenings setting it up properly but I'm very close to where I want it now. I've never owned a fender before, as they never really grabbed my attention before. But this one sure does! The Finnish is superb, very playable, punchy usable toned packed with that fender growl that I like. The supplied fitted case is really great too.

I can confirm that the elite series has the misicman style truss rod adjustment wheel. you can adjust the truss rod without removing anything using an allen key or a suitable rod
