Picked this up in bass direct today. Couldn't resist after a couple of hours playing it. Its got a super low action, amazing B, punchy as flip with 2 single coil EMG.
I beleive it to be an early model.
Spec:
Flame maple body, Cocobolo top and back, Gloss natural finish,Flame Maple/Wenge through neck, Ebony fingerboard with maple edgeing
It needs some work, but nothing that affects playability. Finnish related stuff.
I plan to restore it to original as far as possible.
Chuffed. X

That looks really cool! Almost a Mutron "light" I'd miss the downsweep though. Will still be an expensive piece of kit though.

It sounded like he had some mental health problems, which I am totally sympathetic to. I hope he recovers and gets back up and running soon.
As do I.
Covid had been hard.
I had assumed maybe he had unfilled your order when others had been satisfied
If that's not the case, them I take it back.
Mental health is a real and current issue that needs addressing with support and care.

I'm going to take the plunge on this. It seems like the synth 8ve been waiting for.
FYI my previous have been the novation BS2 and morpho x4.
I've been considering the peak for weeks now. But for similar money I feel the additional keyboard, analogue oscillators and simplicity of design will be more to my taste.

Still gutted I never got mine. Not sure I’ll ever manage to get one now as Spencer has disappeared again.
Spencer is a fool for letting you down. So many people I know hold your opinions in such high regard.. he could have sold so many if he had impressed you.
His loss.
Just mho of corse.

they obviously realised they had misspriced it and put the price up.
maybe it will come down again soon.
it does errk me a bit tho as i would have probably gone for one had it been 999 and i thaught i was getting a bargain

I kind of wish you hadn't said that as I was checking that pedal out earlier today as am looking for something that does the double-tracking and pitch bend type effect of the Digitech Luxe (which seems difficult to get hold of in the UK) but then saw the price tag and moved along. If it's also good for the low-gain too then perhaps I should re-consider!
Theres a thread somewhere where I posted some clips. If you can't find it. Or I deleted it. Then I can re-reccord some later.

Strymon deco ended my search for low gain overdrive.
turns out i needed a tape saturation.

If you could only choose one filter pedal - get one that gives you two! I just got the Xotic Robotalk 2 and it seems decent. Two bandpass filters that can be combined, each with independent footswitches, volume, decay, sensitivity, resonance, and there's a clean blend. (Ideally I'd like a up/down sweep switch, and low pass/bandpass switch...but that's probably being greedy).
i used to have one of these. i loved it. it siunds very similar to the MXR BEF when just using one chanel.
the 2 chanels are voiced slightly differently. i got some wicked sounds out of mine. id diddnt really fint into my es8 setup back then but would defo consider another one now.
great score!

I've now updated the pics taken with a better lens choice.

Yes wide angle lens.
I can take some more tomorrow.

Won't find a cheaper one from this ilk.
£750ono.
Buyer to collect or arange courier.

done a little clip of the kangra. filter then the fuzz, then the 2 combine same settings.
i forgotten how responsive the filter is. an the gated fuzz on its own feeds well into other filturds too.

I've got a brown dog clone.
A brown dog.
And a kanga.
I like them all for different reasons.
I really like the kangra, and it gets packed it the gig bag often when I dont take a board.

been looking at this, but that damage, and the fact that its spec is exactly the same as my current sandy, has enabled me to resist.
would look lovley next to my Fender jazz tho.

not on the stomp
My apologies. I saw them added to the native version. Haven't updated my stomp yet.

Yeah, in theory the Stomp can replace most pedals (or at least get pretty close to their sound) and it's footswitch limitations can mostly be solved by using presets, and that external dual switch is well worth having.
It's main issues are: not great at envelope filters or synths, I like a compressor with some visual compression indicator and hands on control, and block space can be an issue (I've had it maxxed out at 5 if using certain things) so it can't always replace everything that could be done with big chain of pedals. So I'll be keeping a compressor, synth, and favorite od and fuzz pedals.
I'm happy with it, even just as a modulation, delay, eq, amp/cab sim, tuner it would cost about the same to have them as separate pedals.
FYI The compression does have gain reduction meters now.

Yes. Couple of cracks in the top. But nothing that can't be easily repaired.
None of the work I intend to have done affects tone/playability. It's a superb instrument already. I'd just like to restore it to original condition. Shouldn't be much more than a good body refinish.
I'd be happy to leave the neck as is.
