  2. Open to offers!!
  3. AGAIN, no trades please! Cash only
  4. REDUCED now £850. Bass is currently in London if that makes it easier for anyone. Will hopefully be coming back up north next week
  5. Will consider offers!
  6. Nice one! I borrowed a friends BBM once and found the whole thing with the volume to be a bit of a pain. Did you modify the circuit much to add the oscillation mod? I can only find diagrams online for making a feedback looper as a separate pedal, and while that would be cool to try with different effects, I'd prefer to save space on my board. I was thinking of just using this diagram and wiring what would be the send and return jack tips to the input and output of the circuit. Also swap out the SPDT for a momentary foot switch. Do you reckon that would work? Or like you said, try some probes in different places.
  7. I've made a couple of muff's for friends of mine and thought I'd make one for myself. I'm planning on adding a feedback circuit, similar to the self-oscillation circuit that Fuzzrocious do. I'd probably wire it up with a momentary foot switch to activate the feedback. Does anyone have any experience of adding such a thing to fuzz? any schematics would be greatly appreciated.
  8. For sale is my JHS Muffuletta. Swiss Army knife for muff lovers. I’ve been using this for a few years now and it is fantastic. However, I’ve recently started making my own Muffs, mainly for friends, and thought it strange that I’ve not actually been using one of my own myself. Great condition, got some lines on that the previous owner put on, presumably in permanent marker because it won’t come off. Although, who cares when it sounds as good as it does! Will post within UK. Collection from Leeds, or Wrexham.
  9. I’d say so, yes. The neck pickup is further towards the neck than a traditional Fender and the bridge pickup is pretty close to the bridge. Obviously the scale length and body etc are a pretty different in relation to a Fender Jazz, but I reckon that it’s an approximation of 70s spacing.
  10. For sale is my Mayones Jabba Classic 5. Considering selling as it doesn't really suit what I'm playing anymore and I don't have much use for a 5 string. It's a truly fantastic bass and I'd love to keep hold of it for sentimental reasons but I have to think of practicality. Beautiful finish (believe it's graphite burst or something?), Aguilar pickups, glockenklang 3 band active eq with passive switching. The master volume pot could do with being replaced as it's a little bit crackly but I haven't got round to doing it. It's currently strung with Ernie Ball rounds but can post with a set of La Bella flats that have been cut for this bass that I only removed recently. It's honestly the best sounding jazz I've played, easily does the classic sound as well as a more modern sound when you switch to active. 9/10 for condition, just some light dinks here and there and a couple of scratches on the back of the neck. I'm after £900 and it'll be sold with a scruffy Mayones soft case. Collection preferred (the bass is currently in Leeds but I can get it across to Wrexham North Wales if that's any easier for anyone. Will post in a Hiscox hard case if buyer is happy to cover the costs. No trades as it's funding another bass. Drop me a message if you have any questions!
  11. Cheers everyone. Got it pretty much sorted now, actions a tad high but it’s far better than before.
  12. Got a new (old) Guild B302 today, and while it’s a lovely bass it could do with a set up. Buzzing all over the shop. My main issue here is that the bridge is unlike most bridges I’ve come across. It appears that there’s two main bolts on each side of the bridge that raise the bridge itself, and a smaller cog that must raise the neck-end of the bridge. Anyone able to suggest the best way to raise the action? There’s no individual saddles alla Fender and most basses. Seems to be all in the bridge. While I could go and get it set up professionally, I’d rather give it a go myself since I just spent money on the bass itself. Note: the neck seems fine, very slight bow but nothing serious.
  13. Cheers Bigwan and Ceebass. I'll double check with the Jed's peds and also Musikding. I'm in Wrexham, North Wales currently but I study in Leeds, so I'm back and forth. I'm sure between the two there's probably someone who can give us a hand. I'm going to start building a Microamp clone soon so I guess just a few holes in an enclosure (Jacks, power, led, pots, 3PDT). If you can that'd be great but don't want to put you out! If I can find somewhere where I can get them on demand that'd be great.
  14. Is anyone aware of anywhere in the UK where you can buy pre-drilled pedal enclosures? I have CTS in both wrists so I don’t feel too confident drilling the enclosures myself at the moment due to poor grip/wrist pain etc.
  15. Anyone familiar with Steve Albini will surely be familiar with the Harmonic Percolator pedal. For those who aren't, I'll attach a link below. https://youtu.be/zYV_ikJGJaA As much as I love this pedal, it's just not getting much use in the bands I'm it at the moment. I had this commissioned in the summer of 2017 and had it since September. It's basically new and been gigged once or twice. I'll post with instructions manual. It's been modded with a bass switch to allow more low end but I've personally found that it retains low end well by itself. Also got switching between diodes (no diodes, germanium and silicon), each sound very different and offer plenty of variation. £80 + postage, or collection from Leeds or Wrexham (North Wales) by request.
  16. Thanks everyone my symptoms are mainly pain in my hands and around the underside of my wrist. The hand pain is mainly in the joints and muscles but depends on what I’m doing with my hand. The pain normally comes and goes but it’s primarily there when I play bass. I don’t get numbness, but my joints tend to almost ‘lock’ or collapse occasionally. My index finger is the only one to get any numbness, it basically feels clumsy when I play, if that makes sense. I struggle to pick things up and do things like turn door handles, cut food etc. I’m just at a bit of a loss as both people I’ve seen have told me different things so I’m not sure what I should be doing to get better, how long to expect to be like this etc
  17. I have actually been recommended trying out a short scale for it. Many have to invest in a cheap one and give it a go. Did it take long for the inflammation to go down?
  18. How long did it take for recovery if you don’t me asking?
  19. He’s given me two but told me to research more myself
  20. So I’ve been to my GP and since seen a physio after I’ve been told I have tendonitis. The physio has since said that he believes it to be Carpal tunnel. Whether tendonitis inflicted carpal tunnel or I was simply misdiagnosed, I’m not sure. However, I’ve been recommended to do exercises to strengthen the muscles in my hands but I’m unsure of where to start. Anyone able to recommend anything in particular? As with so many things on the internet a lot of information available seems misinformed and not helpful, so I thought it’d be best to ask people who may already have been through what I have. It’s been about 6 weeks since I started having pain and the idea of having a break from playing seems pretty impossible at the moment seeing as I’m currently studying music performance at degree level and I have gigs/recording sessions coming up. If anyone can give me any advice on how to reduce strain and how I can recover quicker that’d be great. I’m aware the best thing I can do is to simply not play but putting the breaks on everything right now isn’t really possible
  21. I’m actually doing an essay on this at the moment. You could consider it theft but the record labels normally keep about 80% of the revenue received from Spotify before the musicians get a whiff of it. Also, spotify was launched in 2008, the same year that the ‘vinyl resurgence’ is considered to have began. In the following 7 years, global profit made from vinyl alone has quadrupled. While there are many factors that contribute towards this, it’s worth considering that while streaming services have monopolised music consumption, there seems to be a demand for something tangible for the consumers money. And of course, this means more money for artists. I think that Spotify should pay artists more, though if you try and see Spotify as not being a direct income source, it has some real benefits for artists, though not intentionally. I’m sure I read somewhere that the guys behind daft punk would only have earned $13000 each from ‘get lucky’ from streams alone, despite being one of the most listened to tracks of that year. This doesn’t seem so bad but consider the amount of money that would have gone into producing that record. The fact is that most mass media is now consumed through subscription based platforms, Netflix and Spotify being the first to come to mind. It’s certainly a trend that works great for consumers and the platforms themselves, but it’s the artists that seem to suffer.
  22. Ahhh, this is the dream. Especially with the pickup selector mod.
