1.
Happy to help, i've used K+M stands before and always thought they were decent quality (not the cheapest but i'd rather buy once and not have to worry about stands failing at a gig)
+1 to all of that. I moved over to K+M stands a while ago and have been very pleased. Well made, sturdy and there's even a spares backup.

Spencer just bought my LMK. Nice chap, good comms, prompt payment upon collection, nice P bass, too....
3. I don't post here usually, but I thought I would for this one. Last night was my full-time Electric DB debut, playing for a 40's dance band that I used to gig with on my Dobro bass. Haven't played with them for 6-7 years, then only one rehs and gig. Sheet music too. To use a colloquial term, sheetyerpants scary. Amazingly, it went well - much better than I had feared. Learning more about my recently acquired SWR Studio 220, and how it probably wants to work either at 4R or with a slave amp taking the load on one cab gigs. Live and learn, eh?
4. 'Fraid so - I ended up buying a Spector instead. Never mind! Hope you do eventually get a buyer.
5. Old Laney gear is good. Like Trace, but cheaper. Most of the late 90's onward stuff's not so good. This is late 80's heyday stuff.
6. I saw that on eBay and nearly bid on it myself. I thought the G series was for guitar, but from the looks of it the functons are almost identical to the DP series. I dearly miss my DP300. Old fashioned heft, to coin a phrase. As in I had to heave to lift it...

Pedal cable

On solid connectors - I have had limited success with these. I feel you really need same brand pedals together for these to be effective. This also restricts the ways you can order the chain. The cammed ones do help, but not enough IMO. YMMV, natch...
8. That's what I thought. From looking at it, I didn't expect the price. I can only assume it has some seriously nice components in it.

I use the Cordial ones, and have done for about 18 months without issue. They're on Thomann for not much, have good quality jacks on and use decent grade cable. Like this one - https://m.thomann.de/gb/cordial_cfi_06_rr.htm
10. I couldn't find a thread for jimmy23cricket on here, so I thought I'd start one. He bought my Presonus Tube Pre. He was quick with PayPal payment, communications and was an all-round good egg. Buy with confidence!
11. I had the same thought. Tastemakers, eh...?
12. I think it sounds really nice. Powerful, musical, practical. Good job Tech 21!
13. Not very cool I know, but have you thought of the Laney R3, now known as the RB3? I had this amp myself, and used it for very similar uses, including drum monitor, vocal monitor, occasional table... In short, it's a sturdy, pleasant sounding unit. Has a decent enough compressor on board, too. Not huge either.
14. I've played there twice and it's a good music crowd, if a bit hairy. And I don't just mean hirsute... I was there with a female fronted funky disco pop kinda band, but one that's used to winning a crowd over. I think they didn't know what to make of us when the the keys player pulled out both of his Nords... But an open-minded crowd, out for a good time. Bring weighted speaker stands. Anyway, have a good gig! I'd have popped down if I wasn't already gigging myself.
15. Ooh, The White Hart. I played there last summer. Have you been there before?
16. Responded, on hold pending. Blimey, that was quick!
17. Hi all, I'm selling this Presonus Tube Pre in good condition. I have tried using this with my HH VX150 power amp, but I wasn't pleased with the sound. It however works very well. I suspect that this is just a personal taste issue. This comes with the OEM PSU and the original box. Collection from Hertford is possible, also happy to post this out for an additional £5.
18. Hi all, Here I have for sale my Markbass LMK. I have decided that I don't like all this lightweight amp business - so whilst I still have a back, I'm going back to big heavy old lumps. This is a just serviced 2008 model, which I bought from Bass Direct when I bought my Bergs about 18 months ago. They gave me a good price for it, which I have factored into the sale here. I don't think this amp needs much introduction, as these pages have lots of detail about the Little Mark series. For those who don't know, the LMK is a 2 channel version of the LM3, with 500w at 4 ohms, 350 at 8. I gather these don't come up terribly often, I'm probably making a mistake, but hey. The amp is in good condition, but is showing a bit of wear around the corners. It seems this amp has lived in the soft case it's whole life. Included in the sale is the pictured Markbass bag and rack ears. Collection from Hertford, delivery within a 30 mile radius or posted via UPS for an extra tenner. Thanks for looking!
19. I've just bought Steve's SWR head. A fine chap, an easy and accommodating transaction (even when I was late), ready with a decent cup of tea. What more could one want? Another top Basschatter. Thanks again, Steve!
