    Not used one of these.... BUT, my Orange Terror Bass came with 12ax7's in the preamp, and changed them because they had too much gain. Not sure what the valve in the EBS is as stock.

    Seems like a good bundle. If the head runs down to 4 ohms, you can add a second 8 ohm cab to bring the impedance down to 4 ohms, so you can run the head at full whack. I've been using the 450w version of that head at rehearsals, and they need a bit of work to get into and find the sounds, what with the built in amp and fx sims. Once you get there, nice heads.

    The SP210 cab weighs in around 20kg and the head about 3.5kg, so the 52lb figure is believable. Clarky, just buy the head and SP210 seperately!!

    I've got a set of pick-ups from a CIJ 62 re-issue, if you want to slot them in and see if there's a difference. I've since replaced the with Seymour Quarter Pounders, which are the mutts nuts as far as i'm concerned.

    Forget bubblewrap... the weight of that thing will kill any form of it. With those kind closures, I'm pretty sure you can use a cable/zip tie to keep it closed. I'd give it a layer of thick cardboard on the outside, and if you've got enough tape, mummify it to make it really obvious if it's been tampered with.
