4.
how close are the pickups to the strings ? if they're too close, the magnetic field can affect the vibration of the strings and give it a chorused/phased sound. just a thought
Wouldn't that affect the notes along the whole string? Not just between the 13th and 21st frets.....
5. I'd check to see if the neck is straight, by sighting down the neck from the body end. Sounds as if you might have a bit of back bow in that area. Also check the intonation of the D string, that might throw the tuning off a bit and cause the "wobble".......
6. Very nice... can you imagine that with a mirror scratchplate and a matching headstock... mmmmm
7. Anyone in the Midlands wants to try one with an SP210 cab set up is welcome to try mine
8. Another way... If you're using a hifi set up to play your tunes, like i do, use a stereo 3.5mm jack lead to stereo phono plugs. Put the jack into the earphone socket on your lap top and plug the phonos onto the AUX inputs on the back of the power amp section of your hifi. Of course, this only works if you have AUX inputs, and the AUX channel

15. My first ever gig on bass was with a really sh1te bass from the 70's with the original strings still on it. Half way through the first song i hit a chord of some description and broke the E A and D strings. I hummed the bass lines for the rest of the gig....................
