Considering my budget, would 'pimping' one of these be the best option? What's your opinion on the bass? I know beggars can't be choosers but my two other basses are in the colours that the squire is available in, and I would ideally prefer a change. Still, if it's the best option that wont stop me
If you've already got the pick up, just changing the bridge to a Badass/Gotoh style and some better quality machine heads will make no end of difference. I've got a gotoh style bridge, sandberg tuners and a seymour duncan quarter pounder in mine. Admittedly, i did rip out the jazz bridge pick-up.

Have a look at the Squier Precision Specials(?). Very jazz-ish neck, and you can upgrade the hardware with the money you've saved. I have one....

18. Oh he is.....
19. Has anyone got a studio version of this, preferably by Albert Lee? I've got to learn it and don't want to buy an album. If you could e-mail it to me, i'll PM my e-mail addy.. Cheers
20. What bass is it from, as there are different ones to fit different basses.
21. Anyone built one of the Bogdon cardboard box basses yet.?
22. Used one live for a year to add a bit of grit to the sound. Not used it as a DI, but it's there if you need it, and the eq is very useful. Worth the money IMO.
23. Welcome...
24. I think Clarky will like that.... nice.
25. Pardon my ignorance.. when did tort pickguards come in?
