1.
Is this genuinely totally out of the blue, or have you been missing some subtle "pull your socks up" messages?
As far as i can tell, totally out of the blue.
2. I'm now going solo.. Anyone play spoons or washboard?
3. I'm more pissed off with the way it was done and the total lack of communication beforehand. If i was holding the band back for some reason, a face to face meeting with some valid points and a chance to defend myself would have been good.... meanwhile back in the real world..............
4. As of today i am no longer the bass player in my (ex)main band. Apparently, i've been made the scapegoat for the bands inability to "reach the next level". The rest of the band have been talking about it for ages without my knowledge!!!!! Basically according to the email, "we think you've been unhappy for a while.....". Was i asked? Was i feck. "We'll be playing FLASHIER songs....." Was i asked to work them out, or if i was able to play them? Errrr, no. The only bit that had a ring of truth was about my reluctance to wear better stage wear and wigs. Even this was never mentioned, as in "Nige, we'd like you to make a bit more effort in your onstage appearance". FFS, it's a Van Halen/Dave Lee Roth tribute, where the emphasis is on the frontman. Not a full blown Kiss tribute!!(Sorry Gary....) And they got the drummer (who's the nicest guy in the whole world) to phone me up to explain the band's point of view............. excuse the shouting.. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rant over.
5. Ah.... yes. I remember the Point gig. T'was, i, the pyro tech who nearly blew somebody's face off. That's the problem with trainees!!! Far too enthusiastic...
6. I'm sure somebody will have an answer(s). I've just acquired a very nice 3band eq Stingray. Is it possible to fit aftermarket piezos to a standard stingray bridge? And are they available? And has anyone done it??? Just curious at the moment ya see..... Cheers
7. Have a look at the Fender B-dec.
8. Currently using Sandberg California JM and JJ's. For the money, at least when i got them, they are the best quality/sounding basses around, IMHO!!! As for the Delano pickups and Glockenklang pre-amp... The Umbo's are passive and use a different make of pickup, so i'd be interested to compare.
9. Fuzz and wah. And played fingerstyle!!!
10.
I'm just nipping into the loft to see if there are any Alembics up there that I missed. Edit: back again. No joy, just a load of boxes, an old left-handed Hofner from the 60s that belonged to Paul, and a stairgate.
Can i have first dibs on the stairgate?
11.
Ignore all these man-boob wannabees, my boobs are the bounciest, can I join?
Evidence?
12.
Hi guys, I don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere on the site, but there's a good sale at Bass Central at the moment, and they will ship internationally. I'm told their sale prices are negotiable, and they've got a large selection of lefties in: Bass Central lefty deals
Not exactly budget basses are they!!!
13.
'nuff said....
Muffled snigger....
14.
Hi Yorick, what part of Brum are you from? I grew up in Sutton Coldfield/Erdington.
I'm from sunny Acocks Green (ahem)!!!
