  4. Played one for a few weeks. As mentioned before, they're very strange to play/adjust to. Once mastered, they do sound great. If you do get one with the silicone strings, rub talc on the strings and board as it cuts down on the friction between the strings and your fingers.... Unless you like burned finger tips!!!!!

  16. Always have a good idea of the bass sound you want/use. If you're recording digitally and you want an ampeg sound ask the engineer before hand what plug-ins he has, for example.

  22. Try out the Yamaha BB414. I use one for the more intimate stage size gigs and it's rather spiffing. The P+J pickup arrangement will suit pretty much anything and the neck is really comfortable.
