1. Repeat ad infinitum....."cannot afford, cannot afford................."
2. Give him a ring see if he's still got it!!!
3. Use model enamel or nail varnish......
4. If these have a natural wood cabinet, they're the same as one i used in the mid-nineties. Very good sounding combos, but bl@@dy unreliable and prone to overheating. I would say they are overpriced as well.
5. At least he hasn't polished them up!!!
6. ABOUT FIFTY PEE!!! i'LL HAVE IT
7. I've always looked for better gear. Being left-handed has always meant either getting cr@ppy stuff or mid-range stuff with a % premium for being a lefty, bass wise anyway. The past twenty or so years have been a revelation as to what you can get. I've had Rickys, pre EB stingrays, Fenders and customs. I've only in the past two years found my ultimate basses, so here's to the next twenty finding my ultimate rig.....
8. Helmet, and their bass player. Can't remember his name!!!
9. Bought my last Sandberg through them. The signing up is fairly painless, took fifteen minutes plus the form filling out. No problems. Ten percent cash deposit, and Bob's yer mother's brother. PMT in Brum use it, or did the last time i checked.
10. It reminds me of looking through crystal clear meditteranean water with sunlight streaming through it and seeing the seabed........ And somebody is going to tell me i've spelt meditteranean wrong!!!
11. The best of the Allman Brothers.
12. There was a mention of this in another thread about posting old transcritions from bass magazines and the idea ground to a halt over copyrights etc.
13. I seem to remember a transcription or part thereof in a Bass Player a while ago. I shall mooch tonight!!!
14. Plumbers PVA tape.
15. Just had a closer look at the web site and i love his Jigsaw bass

17.
ow do all Ok, so i'm looking at getting me a new (well second hand preferably) bass. I've been using my rockbass streamer (double soapbar) for the last two years. I like the neck size and I'm one of them people who likes to anchor his thumb on the neck pickup. I do play various styles so versatility would good. So, what would people recommend up to say 500 sheets? Sorry it's all a bit vague, but none of the local music shops have anything worth bothering with, so thought i'd ask y'all.....
The new Warwick RockBasses. Look just like the real thing now, two piece bridge etc. Look excellent!! Yamaha BB series basses. Excellent build quality and parts. Sounds great. And a neck to die for. Not well up on newer Ibanezs, but they seem to get good reviews. Secondhand MIJ/CIJ Fender jazz basses......
18. And it's still a bolt on neck!!!
19. It's a ten-fifteen minute walk from New st to PMT. Just head past Millenium Point, it's on the island at the bottom of the road.
20. Right handed plywood 1 string Rickenbacker copy for £1. Still only worth a pound!!!!!
21. If the ohm ratings match it should be nore than enough. With 8x10 you've got the bottom end and top from the 10s, plus it'll shift a lot of air.
22.
I've been thinking of changing the preamp in my Spector LX5 after reading the "Tone Dump" thread on Talkbass. I just find the Tone Pump a bit raw and too hot for some songs. Yesterday, I tried a Warwick Streamer 6 in PMT in Manchester and it sounded sweeter and a lot more 'musical' to my ears so I've now made my mind up to go ahead and change the preamp. Trouble is, it's difficult to make your mind up which one to go for. I'm thinking of buying either the EMG BQC System or the ACG 02 but to be honest, I'm not that convinced about either for various reasons. Anyone got any comments / advice for me before I take the plunge? PS - I take back whatever I said about Warwicks - I'd be very happy with that Streamer 6 I tried.
Send Cetera a PM. He's got quite a few Spectors with a variety of preamps in. He is the man in the know......
