Its just a coincidence but I agree they do have plenty of bite and growl!
excellent! Might be tempted to buy a pair and modify my cheap squire somewhat, they seem well priced!

these sound good! Are they good for getting a John Entwistle tone? I can get a similar tone with my new way of playing with a precision, but does this add extra growl like his? Or are the surnames a coincidence? haha

******FULL PICS DOWN THE THREAD, MANY THANKS TO GREENEKING FOR HELPING WITH THE UPLOAD ***** Reluctantly up for sale is this fantastic ACG bass custom made by Alan Cringean. It has an active AC PB Humbucker and an AC RFB Humbucker, with a 3k EQ01 preamp filter with two low pass filters, which are the double stacked control knobs. You can read more about the pickups and electronics here: http://www.acguitars...basses/pickups/ http://www.acguitars...es/electronics/ The bass also has a switch which selects between series/single/parallel for the pickup coils, giving a truly wide range of tones, its really everything you want in a bass. The neck also contains luminlay inlays which can glow blue, and the body wood is white limba. This bass packs serious sound and I am gutted to be selling it. Basschat knows more than most communities how good these are, you honestly get 10 basses for one, I'm so gutted to put this up for sale. Hiscox case included You are welcome to try it out. I go to University in Birmingham, but I can drop home to Hertfordshire one day if its closer Thanks Taran [sharedmedia=core:attachments:209508] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:209510] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:209513]

I hold mine like the attachment. My hand is pressed where the strings and bridge meet, and just use the wrist motion to pluck, gives a nice thuddy muting effect. I sometimes take my hand off the strings for more twang, but use my fingers more

as talented as he is, Page is known for this, didn't he deny he stole Dazed and Confused?

Thanks for all the feedback guys! Something cheap and cheerful, £150 tops is my budget, no need for gigging neither. Will look into all the suggestions thanks!

Agreed these are top notch!

Hi guys I'm looking to start playing and eventually record my own music in my room, playing all instruments (guitar, bass, synth and drums) myself to record onto cubase, as I may contemplate leaving the band scene. Do any of you recommend any decent electric drum kits? Preferably small that does the job. I'm not looking to become Moon or Baker (wouldn't mind being that level!) But just something that's decent and small enough to record what you want Cheers Taran

I like loads, Jim Morrison, Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey being my favourite 3. All vocalists for Pink Floyd (except Waters) sound amazing too. I think this demp of Pete however might be my favourite vocal performance of all time. Granted i was high when i first heard it, but given the context, its extremely powerful and his best vocal display in my opinion. Well worth a listen https://youtu.be/SegdtSBywVE

agreed with this. I love my ACG but my band have stuffed me with a Gibson instead, with one massive humbucker. Don't think they appreciated my high end settings on the ACG, which I much prefer playing

His Alembics were deadly, although it saddens me to say that i think John caught a case of lead guitar syndrome in the 80s and 90s
