Correct, around 1996/7 Fender offered a 'full' range of Midnight Wine guitars and basses. IIRC Jazz, P , Strat, & Telecaster were of Mex origin with Alder bodies, maple necks and white pickguards. They were mainly sold in the US market through a handful of major retail chains. I still own a Strat bought from Guitar Centre in San Jose in 1997 while working there. The MIM builds were of a surprising higher quality. The success of the exclusive deal with the major retailers prompted the demand for an entry-level range Squier Midnight Wine guitars and basses. Congrats on finding such a nice bass. There are lot's of aftermarket Pups and of course a @KiOgon loom with CTS to tempt you on an upgrade roadmap. Check out many of the Bitsa & upgrade threads of Bass chatters who may provide some guidance. For my 2p worth, Jess Loureiro split coil '51P (wired in series) or the Lindy Fralin '51 Split P, both really lovely Pups. Enjoy

I took a USA pro bridge off my 1992 USA Fender P Deluxe and replaced with a BadAss 3 Thro body bridge. It looked great ( it's the one on the right in my avatar) but I could not discern any difference in sustain or tone. I then used the Fender Pro bridge on my YOB '52 P Bitsa. It's simplicity & aesthetic sits really well on the bass. The thickness of the material used in this bridge is more than 3mm so it much thicker than the standard BOBT which allows for the grooves in the base for the grub screws to maintain alignment. The thro body stringing compensates for the three mounting screws and the string saddles have grooves for perfect string spacing. All in all great simple design that works and looks the part.

So I did some "Proving of the Pudding" today and, as usual, Phil Starr was spot on with his analysis and advice. Connected one of the EV-SB122 subs to my Fender Rumble HD 800 and the BF One 10 and sure enough the whole character of the sound changed dramatically. Set the amp EQ flat and A/B 'd with & without the EV-SB122. The One 10 has a lovely olde school warmth with my Fender P's and it truly is a joy, but adding the Sub added a huge girth and deep bottom end push to the sound. No loss of the natural One 10 sound just more thunder in the low end. So, in conclusion, to my ears, adding the sub increases the output performance of the setup making it sound sort of "Bigger". I generally use the BF One 10 & Fender Rumble 500 for Pub Jams and home use, on it's own it struggles even at rehearsals with our noisy Gittaaarist , keys & drums but I just think it may well cope with the added Sub. The EV-SB122 subs were recently purchased to add to the EV Z1s to improve the performance for the 3 Vox so they will not be used for my bass setup. ( Main Bass rig is 1 or 2 BF Super Compacts with either the Fender Rumble HD 800 or a Mesa Subway D800)

Purchased a pair of EV SB122 subs from Chris. A really Gentleman to deal with, great comms, and very flexible on timing for collection of the cabs. Thanks Chris

All interesting information, thanks to everyone. What about the other way round? Say adding a PA woofer to a BF One10? Amp into sub out of sub to the BF One10. Sub filters the lows below 180hz leaving the One10 to cover the rest. Would it not help the One10 to perform more efficiently & if the sub was 8ohm the amp would push more when presented with a 4ohm load. The three necks I purchased fitted really well to Fender size bodies. A Guitarbuild.co.uk P body, a Squier CV Jazz body and the Squier Tele Ray body. I had no issues with tuner hole size. I used Fender MIM tuners, Squier tuners and Fender US tuners. Maybe I was luck I'm not sure but quality of the necks is pretty good, but the '51 P headstock shape can vary.

I have been a long time fan of the DiMarzio Split P, I love it's depth and range so these may offer something different in a competitive P bass Pup after market.

Agreed , but I would say that the MS60B can be gigged depending on your needs. If you only need 4 core patches for your set then you can toggle through the 4 patches with simple single footswitch press. The tuner is really handy so reducing the need for a separate tuner and saving real estate. BUT the B1Four maybe a more versatile route to consider.
